Different. Odd. Unique. Confusing. Funky. It really is hard to, in a simple way, describe The Club in DFW that is located in terminal D (same terminal as the Amex Centurion club).

a staircase leading up to a building

a staircase with glass railings

a hospital hallway with a sign

You have a number of choices to get to this elevated club. Either walk up the lengthy staircase and find the club entrance across from the urgent care.

a large building with many windows

Or, take an elevator or escalator up to the upper floor and approach the entrance from the other side.

a large building with a large staircase

people sitting in a building

I said this club is confusing and here is a reason why. The curved desk style seating in the shot just above is part of the club – but it is outside the club. Oh and you check-in and behind it the bar area that is inside the club but feels “outside”, like literally outside, because it is open to the terminal that has mile high ceilings. I like this laptop working area other than the fact that it is a tight space to get past those who are already seated.

a glass door with a person sitting in the background

a man standing in front of a glass door

The check-in area is tiny so you will likely be waiting outside. Not a big deal but folks come and go to not only get to the laptop work area but yet another area separated from the main club area. You gain entrance with Priority Pass from cards like the non-Delta Amex Platinum personal or business cards that allow you and a guest in free of charge.

a man sitting at a bar

Each time I have visited the staff has been great. While the beverage selection is basic – it works for a small lounge. On to the food choices.

a food court with people sitting at tables

Again, we are talking about a very compact space on this side of the club. In fact what you see in the photo above IS basically this side of the club (save a small area at check-in).

a group of jars of food on a table

a group of plates of food

a table with food on it

I have been here for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Both have been acceptable but certainly not as impressive as the Centurion.

a group of people sitting in a restaurant

Across the hall from the entrance you have another space that also does belong to the club. This space, unlike the rest of the club, is a closed off room(s). I have avoided this space due to noise level and it always seems hot and the air movement is poor.

a door with a sign on it

But you do have to come over here to visit the club’s lavatory and shower space. There is also, near the escalators, a public lavatory you can go to.

a large orange sign in a building

Different, Odd, Unique, Confusing and Funky really do sum up this “The Club” at DFW. If you do find yourself in a situation where the Centurion has told you to “go away” and you are not near the Delta Sky Club in DFW this is a choice to at least consider. What I really wish had happened is this – when the Centurion moved out of that space that the The Club at DFW swooped in and grabbed it for themselves (see a video walk though of the OLD club here). It would have greatly expanded the club space vs. what they have here and avoided the cut up 3 space footprint they now have.

Have you been to The Club at DFW? Do you like it or is the layout too weird for your taste? – René

Been there a couple of times; not bad. I like looking out over the terminal from above in the open air.

The new Club looks MUCH better than the old one, the old one was tiny, filthy, and offered only bagged chips and similar. The best reason to visit there was they had bottled water you could take with you. Glad to see they’ve improved this location.
