Wow this one is simply insane how good it is and could be a great start to those who want status in 2019/2020 (you can find these for this year 2018 at a higher price – but still not bad fyi). None of the really cheap ones are “turn and burn” runs but why not stay a few days in sunny California or Puerto Rico while earning a ton of miles. There are several open dates over 2019 you can search for (see links below for help about how to do so).
Do keep in mind if you have not had the Delta Amex Reserve personal or business card you still have time to pick that up and get 10,000 MQMs for the non-waved $450 first year fee (plus you get into the Sky Clubs for a year free when you fly Delta)! Yes, if you apply fast and get spend done, you should be able to still get the cards THIS YEAR 2018 for 2019!
Also, the highest point yield on these is via SEA at least once but if you want full flat 767s flights transcon you can just go LAX-JFK each way for that Delta One experience both ways (price still stays sub 6CPM)!
Here are the numbers:
Cost in Delta 1st class is $696
13,568 at 5.1 CPM
Book direct on Delta.com (quick links for run above from LAX is here)

Finally a great sptint in my area and don’t have to leave to country .
I have never been to Puerto Rico, and this looks like a great deal, but these days I am more focused on MQDs. I would probably do it if I was only going for Platinum.
Hi after San Juan. You have (vv) what is this. And also how do you calculate CPM?
Thank you.
@Jesse – VV is vice versa that is you can book this either way (see screen shots above). CPM is the total price divided by the MQMs earned (elite points – the reason for the run)!
Great post! Thanks for these!
I’m thinking of grabbing a cheap NYC-LAX, pick up this PR deal and land close to 20k MQM for $1000’ish.
There are worse options.
