Coming back from a fun weekend BBQ “meat up” in Austin I had a chance to pop in to the Delta B/C Sky Club that serves the regional jet concourse. I also realized I had not had a chance to update the DTW & MSP Sky Club reviews I had intended to complete. I am sorta happy I waited so long as they have updated the food area in this club – for the better. Let’s look around the club.
This club, like all the Detroit clubs, has yet to get the new modern Delta “Ikea like” makeover (think SFO club as an example). It still has the old Northwest Air Club feel (and some of the chairs are maybe that old too).
The club is large and spread out with lots of separated areas so if you find one area crowded just walk around a bit and you should find seating somewhere.
On the near end of the club is non-private work station space with power. Wifi is reasonably fast as well and the password is always provided when you check in.
There are TVs in the club, one in the limited seating food service area and the other you see next to it – also with very limited seating for viewing.
In addition to the main food offerings you will find snacks right behind check-in roughly centrally located in the club.
Also, like all Sky Clubs, you can find a network connected printer / copier for your use at no charge.
At the very end of the club you will find what once was additional seating and TV space that has now become a spacious and open food bar with nice expanded choices.
This really was a wise change and a nice refresh for this club. Not the total refresh that is needed but will extend the life a bit longer.
The drink area remains in the same location as the past (but draft beer choices do rotate now and then).
Most who visit DTW Sky Clubs tend to make a beeline to the main A DTW club but with the latest refresh, if you are flying out of B/C, this is now a better choice.
Have you visited the refreshed Detroit B/C DTW Sky Club? – René
