Welcome to the basement Delta Sky Club. That is, this is the club affectionately referred to as the “dungeon” as it is below the concourse.

You can get in with a number of AMEX cards or, if you are a Skyteam elite plus status and are on a coach or anyone on a business class international departing (or connecting) ticket, you can also get in free.

Since it is downstairs you have the choice of stairs or elevator to get down to ground level (since the concourse is actually elevated).

And you are also greeted by signage of the brand new club that is to be built in Concourse D. Depending on when you are reading this review it may in fact be open and I will add it to the review list above.

This club is not very large so both check-in and customer service issues are all taken care of in one place.

With this club, what you see is what you get, that is, it is one large room or box and that’s the extent of it. There are no showers but there are a number of individual bathrooms for your use.

Just to your left as you enter you have a magazine and newspaper rack, all complimentary for guests.

If the line is long at customer service, this club does have two self service kiosks for your use (very handy as I always recommend you have a paper boarding pass just in case).

Immediately to your right after you enter you have a number of cubicles for semiprivate working conditions as well as the stock network printer and shredder that is available in just about every club in Atlanta.

On the far left wall is a bar with, as of this review, two beer choices plus a number of stock complimentary wines and drinks. Also several other drinks are available for purchase should you wish to do so.

This really is a rather small club (but not as tiny as some others in Atlanta). It can get hot down here which may be another reasons for the pet name many use for this location. It is not one of my favorite clubs but if it is near your gate, it can work in a pinch.

Food choices are limited compared to the upgraded E & F clubs but you can still fill up on soup, bread and some other snacks including a salad. I just wish Delta would stock slightly larger plates, but my guess is this is done to control having to restock items as often.

Lastly I have found the club, despite it’s drawbacks, often to be quite crowded. I did not test the wifi speed during this visit but most of the clubs have been steadily upgrading the wifi performance so that should not be an issue in this or other clubs in the Delta system.

Have you visited this club? Did you enjoy your visit and is the pet name for this club deserved? – René

I was at this Sky Club back in September. If I recall correctly, I was there mid-morning and it was about half full. It’s certainly one of the smaller clubs that I’ve been in, though that’s not necessarily a bad thing. If I need to get some work done or want to sit somewhere quiet and read the paper, these smaller clubs can often facilitate that better than the larger clubs. The wifi was satisfactory and the bartender and other staff in the club were friendly. I do remember it being somewhat warm, but not so much so that it was uncomfortable.
