The above was how Delta was displaying my next year’s status. I mean, it is disappointing to be MQD exempt (having spent over $25,000 on a Delta AMEX card <-LINK already this year) and to have over 125,000 MQM rollover miles and Delta tells me I will be a medallion for just ONE month next year. 🙁 Delta has now fixed this bug.
Then we had other bugs that recently stressed out and frustrated some flyers. Like the fact that the BOGOF or buy one get one free certificates, from the Delta AMEX Platinum or the Delta AMEX Reserve cards personal or business, that are fully transferable, but Delta.com was auto picking the card member as the first flyer with no way to change it (they have also fixed that bug now).
We also this year had the WHOPPER of an “opppsseeee” that Delta.com was charging elites more points for award tickets than everyone else. Delta did apologize for this and says they have fixed this, but I may have to see if this is really the case as some are reporting the bug is still lurking around here and there. Delta also promised to rebate those who were overcharged points, but I can tell you I did not get any points back for a 30k coach award I booked during the bug period. Ah well.
Now what other bugs are currently “live” on Delta.com? Here is an obvious one. If I go to pull up my Skyclub membership card in “My Delta” for this year it “correctly” shows I only have individual membership. I say correctly in quotes because Delta pulled a #KeepDescending worthy move of blocking my dear wife from joining me in the club as of 1MARCH2015. Thanks Delta!
However, if I happen to go look at my next year’s Skyclub card, I have been UPGRADED to EXECUTIVE membership again and CAN then bring my wife inside the club for free, that is, not having to pay the $29 up-charge to bring her in. Whoopee! Well maybe not so fast.
We all should know this is a bug. First off, it shows my membership is only 6 weeks next year. Also, unless Delta is making a #KeepClimbing move (very unlikely in 2015) I will only have individual membership next year as well as a Diamond Medallion. I am sure Delta will get around to fixing this bug after they spend the time to finish working on more important things like finding more ways to sell 1st class seats that should be going to elites as upgrades 😉
Folks, I could do this all day long. Delta.com is so riddled with bugs, bad wording, conflicting verbiage, old names for seats like the new OFCMB seat names and on and on that this post could be a SkyMile long. Just know you if you happen to read something that does not look or seem quite right on Delta.com, it is likely NOT you who is confused, it is Delta.com – René
