A rather sizable Facebook Delta Diamond Medallion group has started a petition on Change.org to try to have Delta, well, not be so:
- Sneaky, secretive & underhanded actions. That is, not informing SkyRuble members when there is a change. Then, saying there is no change when there is a change and when you complain sending off a stock reply that it is the best move for the company..
- FCM or First Class Monetization. You know what medallions want most – Upgrades. When those are all gone, why be medallion (there are other reasons but we move on).
Those are the two big points from the petition and I really think they extend to all who collect SkyRubles. But as I talked about in THIS post, I don’t see efforts like this working or helping (but by all means sign up). Why?
Look at our effort to complain about changes last year. We were greeted with dismissive canned responses from the mothership. They don’t care. They don’t care about SkyRubles members in general and medallions who are now feeling the brunt of the latest round of enhancements.
Again, THEY DON’T CARE!
Even think about the Freddie awards in Atlanta this year. I mean, other folks who would like you to vote are tweeting out PR stuff and asking you to vote for them to WIN this year. Can you see Delta doing that? It would become a laughing stock and the image would be used over and over again in all the blogs as JOKE of the year! When you do nothing but decimate a program, no one is going to vote for you to win.
So what is the ONLY thing that Delta will listen too? Real simple. See that exit door? Use it. How?
Stop flying Delta! (well paying for tickets that is)
Then, fax or email them copies of the tickets you purchased on other airlines. Do that for EACH ticket you fly. Tell them why Delta did not get this sale – due to Skymiles2015 and all the other brutal customer hostile changes and their lack of notice for changes!
It really is that simple, folks. Delta cares not one bit about us – only about $$$. Show them the choices they are making are going to cost them and they may, just maybe, change course. – René

Agreed. We should stop buying delta tickets and encourage our families and friends to do likewise. There are many reasons why I no longer trust delta. Anderson’s claims about honesty, integrity and respect are insulting. I signed the petition anyway for what it is worth.
What is the best fax # and email address to send copies of our competitor flight purchases to Delta? Thanks.
@RoloT – First thing is just use std complaint site on Delta.com and attach copy.
.
http://www.delta.com/contactus/pages/comment_complaint/index.jsp
.
Then the fax is:

.
Then last choice, and please don’t abuse it,

Rene, you understand what every member should – THEY DON’T CARE. I voted for my airline AS, in the freddies. I hope AS CEO Brad Tilden will be on stage at the Delta Museum to bring some awards back to Seattle. People, vote with your wallets not a petition that is going nowhere.
@Steve Case – Agree but thus the need to e-Mail or FAX them tickets. They may just think you are no longer flying. See?
will DeltaPoints lead by example by completely quitting Delta ? It’s not very convincing to ask everyone to quit DL but the blogger himself/herself remains a loyal DM/PM
@Patricia – I have not purchased a REV ticket for weeks and weeks. I have booked 1MM of SkyRubles. I will have my DM status for 2 years. I will be spending bump vouchers I have but that is it. I have also stated on the blog I plan to have my MQD under $2,000 this year, down from $10,000 last year. Next year, as I have posted, I will be flying AA and others more (unless Delta changes things that is – very doubtful but who knows). Any other questions?
Rene, again I agree with you. vote with your wallet and send them the evidence. I was referring to the “on-line petition”, they won’t get it.
DL CEO Richard Anderson is too busy trying to link the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01 to the rise of Emirates, Qatar and Etithad. See the story at runwaygirlnetwork.com, a good piece to read.
I just completed a Plat status challenge with AA – moving everything I can over to them.
I’ll fax them the tickets the moment I fly a non reward flight. The problem is so far all I have scheduled this year is award flights on Delta, Virgin Atlantic and Air France. Still burning miles as well and will still be DM for a couple more years. If I buy a ticket that’s not Delta it might hurt them but if I choose AA or another carrier that I have no status with it kinda sucks as I have worked (and spent) hard to get this medallion status on Delta and to punish THEM I will also be punishing ME.
Dang it Delta. I finally made DM and it stinks.
Maybe not the smartest points play, but, we are putting all of our nonDelta flight spend this year (5 southwest, AA and U flights so far) on a Delta branded card as another way to let em’ know what they’re losing.
Excellenr Rene!! I agree 100% and im signing the petition no more DELTA
Rene- Have you considered changing your blog name to “Delta Dis-a-Points”?
JFK to JAX
Delta $82
Jet Blue $79
For the last ten years I have only flown on Delta.
Not today.
By the year end , once AA is integrated with US Air, Delta will see change in its revenue.
Reason being, east coast hub for AA is Miami. Once they Change that to CLT, we will see a big impact on ATL
We do not need to write to the corporate people.
The decisions are made in the board room and not in the class room.
People in board room talk and listen to numbers only.
@Forest – We will see about AA. I would not be shocked to see them buck the trend with so many departing Delta for AA.
Talk about Delta’s Making money read below just came out from Reuters even confirms we must stop flying Delta YESTERDAY! and fax every ticket on other airlines to them.
REUTERS/Shannon Stapleton Delta Airlines announced this month that its 80,000 global employees will receive a total of $1.1 billion in profit sharing.Â
The $1.1 billion represents the largest round of profit sharing in the company’s history.
So what does this mean for the average employee?
According to Delta, individual employees will receive what is equivalent to more than 16% of their annual compensation, or roughly two months’ pay.Â
“At Delta, we believe that people, values, and culture drive our success,” Delta Airlines CEOÂ Richard Anderson said. Â
“It is essential for our employees to have an ownership stake in our business and share in the record-breaking achievements they helped create.”
Last October, Delta employees received a 5% advance on the profit sharing.
Of the $1.1 billion, roughly $450 million will go to employees based in the airline’s Atlanta, Georgia headquarters, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported.Â
In addition, Delta employees also earned $84 million in performance bonuses called “Shared Rewards” for helping the company meet corporate goals.Â
Over the past five years, Delta has paid out roughly $2.9 billion in profit sharing and Shared Rewards.Â
Cost conscious Delta has been one of the most profitable airlines in the business. In 2013, the world’s second largest airline made more than $10 billion in net profit Air Transport World reported.
Speaking of changing the rules on us to mess us over, just got told be a DM line rep that if you do a SDC to a longer flight, the MQMs you get will be for teh ticket you paid for, not the actual flights you flew.
You heard anything about that, or was he just an idiot?
@Greg – Doubt it. So far facts don’t support that but we are taking Delta2015
