Final thoughts & impressions about the run – 2015 Delta Mileage Run

Last week I covered the nuts & bolts of my first 2015 Delta mileage run including the earnings and costs. Before I started the run itself I over-nighted at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel by the Galleria.
I took an UBER from the hotel but had a number from a local UBER driver who I just texted and set for a pickup to the hotel. He now has two cars, one a nice Honda with black leather and the other a big SUV he drives for UBER Black. He even was nice enough to swing by In-And-Out on the way as TexasYankee had never had one.
I had stayed at this hotel a few times before and like it very much other than the fact that it is about 20 miles from the airport (yeah I know that is nothing in Texas).
The hotel has fairly recently been updated and feels modern, clean and new.
Rooms are likewise clean, fresh and beds are soft. Desk was fine with power at hand. Wifi was not slow or fast – just worked.
Bathroom was clean as well as towels and all the amenities were well stocked. Just no complaints.
The club room is small and nothing to get real excited about. Since we were going to the Centurion for breakfast I choose points as my Platinum amenity resulting in a cost of just 3500 SPG points for the night. I could have, instead of points, picked a full breakfast.
I like this Sheraton and will be returning again several more times and would recommend it if you are in the area or don’t mind the longish ride back to DFW. – René
