It is so funny on a day we learn that Delta has downgraded award space for medallions and AMEX card holders they have now come up with a FLASH sale for trips to Florida.
I even checked to see if I could fly down and visit my Dad in Florida and, shockingly, found one flight from SBN, or South Bend Indiana. Now I would have to do a triple connect but still I found space!
Here are all the nitty gritty details you need to know:

Is it possible to book 2 one ways for the 20,000? When I attempt to book a round trip, it pulls up 25,000
@Justin – book one at a time and then LINK the two.
Would it be best to book online or call? I am GM.
@Justin – Either.
5k savings? Meh.
So a three month sale that is blacked out for roughly 1/3 of the time. Got it.
WOW!! For once, a Delta promotion I can actually use. I had two coach awards booked from PBI-LGA for the end of February, and I just rebooked and got 10,000 miles back. FWIW, I couldn’t just change the old reservation. I had to cancel it and book an entirely new itinerary.
THANKS RENE!!!!
Thanks for the heads up Rene…no email from Delta!
Booked JAX – LAS and LAS – DAB for 10,000 miles plus $5.60 taxes and fees on each.
Good value on a flight that would have cost me over $440.
Not that I would book these but I only see 12.5K flights. Then I re-read the post to see that it is only for special cardholders. Sheesh.
Nick, you’re lucky you could re-book exactly what you had before. I’ve had a similar situation and cancelled and, of course, couldn’t re-book because the itinerary wasn’t “available.” That’s also why I used to appreciate being able to hold a reservation because I could book my “free” ticket and then my husband could book his purchased ticket. Oh, wait, delta did away with that perk a long time ago. Keep descending, delta, keep descending . . .
@Christine, I actually had enough miles in my account to book the discounted one first and then cancel the old one immediately after. I learned the hard way in the past that availability is less than guaranteed!
I sure am going to miss the free cancellations/changes I can make on award tickets as a Platinum Medallion member. I don’t have a single paid flight on Delta booked for 2015 and hope to keep it that way!
OK…I’m all over this one! Checked out flights from TVC to PBI, FLL, MIA and Tampa. They were all 35,000-50,000 RT. Delta says it’s available on “select destinations only”. So…how do we find out where the heck they are?
@Judy – multi day/week search works.
Hi Rene.

Nick E
I’m confused—- as a platinum medallion, I thought we can cancel and re stock an award ticket up to up to 72 hours in advance of a flight without penalty or cost.
Am I missing something?
@Nina – You can. All you want until 72hr mark.
