Well we at long last have some info from Delta CORP about what has been driving us all crazy for the past few days regarding the change to award tickets. I have been told:
“There are no changes to stopovers. A recent change in IT at Delta.com discontinued the ability to book intl. stopovers online. You could still book them via reservations agents. We [Delta] are working with the res agents (who handle the bulk of the bookings already) to ensure they are properly assisting customers who might.” – DELTA CORP
So there you have it straight from the horse’s mouth. It was all just a bug – officially. We can call, if we need to, and book just like before!
Sure we can, as I have earlier today, speculate about what if any of this was part of Skymiles2015 pre-loading where it should not have been. What I will say is just look how jumpy and afraid fliers are because of what Delta has done in the past. We expect Delta to “do bad” to us so when we see bugs we expect the worst has happened.
I hope, if this was in fact just a BUG as stated by the company, that Skymiles2015 will give MORE choices and not take away things we have come to know and love – René
EDIT: BOOK ALL YOU CAN NOW – BEFORE SKYMILES2015 – The bug WAS related to SKYMILES2015!

Thanks for all the information that you provide to fellow Delta travelers!
I used your strategy by getting a Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card back in September. Because of the 10,000 MQM initial bonus and subsequent 15,000 MQM bonus I’m going to make platinum again this year. It is been a slow year for travel for me without the two Delta reserve cards I never would’ve made it.
I told one of my good friends about the reserve business and he did the same thing. Luckily I told him the next day after he had already booked a trip to Italy in order to qualify. He was able to cancel that trip because he was within the 24 hours and save the time and money.
Keep up the good work you do and I look forward as always to reading your blog.
Sincerely,
Dick DeLano
