I am sure these will all sell out VERY fast as there are only 20 rooms up for grabs. The Ala Moana Hotel is not a dream hotel but for $10 / night how can you go wrong? Here are the details from the web site:

So there you are. Another idea would be for locals from the other islands to maybe do a semi-staycation to Honolulu.
If you could snag these deals, another possible option to keep this on the uber-cheap side would be to look at picking up The Hawaiian Airlines® World Elite MasterCard® to get there on points from either the islands or the mainland. Aloha – René

Ehh… It is Waikiki. Not worth it. Hard to stay on Oahu and experience Hawaii.
Rather pay more and be on Maui or Kauai.
@ZJ – for $10 / night I would spend some time on Waikki! 🙂
Is there cheapo airfare between dtw and hnl. Because I would do this in a heartbeat just to get my fiftieth state. I’ve driven to all the other 49 states and all the Canadian provinces and territories.
@Wendy – points? If no points, book after you find/get room the best fare you can find once you know dates?
Have stayed at this hotel. It is in Honolulu but not on Waikiki. Not a super luxury hotel but not bad either in my opinion. They have a great fitness center and pool as I recall. It is next to Ala Moana Shopping Mall, which has a lot of great shops and entertainment options. There is plenty of the “real” Hawaii on Oahu in addition to the activity of Waikiki. People just need to get out of Honolulu. If I can get a good airfare, I will definitely take advantage of this deal.
@john – txs for great feedback on this.
@wendy There are interstate highways on Oahu…strange.
@John – but is there not H1, 2 & 3 now (plus the new underwater one to LAX) 😉
Ha ha! Europe has the Chunnel. Maybe one day we could have a Punnel connecting LAX and HNL. It is also strange that Alaska has interstate highways. 🙂
Is that time right for EST?
@S – 4pm ET
