Almost none of us work for free. Every time I have to pay a fee to Delta or even, due to the relationship with AMEX, I pay my annual fee for my Reserve card(s) I think about the people at Delta that are at least benefiting. As you can see from the screen shot above from the Delta MEC Master Chairman Mike Donatalli the pilots are getting a nice bonus this week!
The only thing that ever bugs me is when, and I clearly have no way of proving it at the time, that a rep takes a hard line stand on a fee that could be waived due to circumstances. Do you think reps take their profit sharing into consideration when something comes up that could cost you a fee? – René

I was supposed to be on the DL LAX-JFK redeye last night (2/12) and wanted to change to the 2/13 redeye because of weather and business. Delta offered free changes for flights on the 13th due to the storm and my flight landed on the morning of the 13th.
Call 1: Rep advised $200 change fee.
Call 2: Another rep advised $200 fee.
At this point I decided to pay the fee since there was just one seat left in J on the 2/13 redeye and I really needed to get back.
Call 3: Rep said $250 change fee since I booked through an OTA.
Call 4: I embarrassingly got the same rep! How did that happen?!
Call 5: “Of course. I’d be happy to change your ticket.” No charge. Cincinnati call center rep FTW. Yay Delta!

From my experience I do not believe the reps take profit sharing into account.
I think the “share” from any particular fee would be so minuscule that it had zero influence.

All Delta employees (below director level I believe) get the 8.2% profit sharing.
