I don’t know if you missed it or not, but the French are doing what most in Europe do each summer, that is go on strike. The current one is set to last until the 13th. Delta is allowing free changes if you are impacted and if you are on an award ticket the miles will not matter as there just has to be a seat in the same cabin you have booked for you to have it (on Delta metal ONLY that is).
However, this issue is having some other implications. I don’t know if ADAM and the other award booking people have seen this or not, but I have been looking at space over the next few weeks from just about every Delta hub to Europe and almost ZERO low level space is coming up to anywhere either non-logged in or logged in as a Diamond Medallion for both coach and business class.
This could be a great chance for “bumpertunities” or chances to score a nice voucher for taking a bump, but be sure if you do you get a CONFIRMED seat on the next flight not just stand by! – René

I have been trying to change flights for December 18 & 31 to and from IAD-ARN and there are NO seats available in Business. Plus they will charge me the miles difference if it was available. KLM is still showing zero on the AMS-ARN portion of the flight. I cannot imagine what would happen if they had a strike then!
