Now some bad news for today’s date. If you have not yet checked your inbox, you will soon see the above letter from e-Miles telling you that if you want to redeem your e-Miles for Delta Skymiles you MUST do so by year end. They normally give 250-500 points just for joining and it looks like you can still do so with your Skymiles number:
This may present an opportunity for some extra points that could be used for other things next year as per the above letter they are giving bonus points next year to Skymiles redeemers to keep them happy and as of today you can still JOIN with your Skymiles number. This is sad new for e-Milers. I always used e-Miles because it only took a few minutes to gain 500 miles. Too bad.
Is it possible to move the redemption option to another airline program? I navigated the site, but didn’t see that option.
@Shannon – you must stick with the program you 1st joined. But, since Delta is going, this way if you are NEW you can just wait and pick the one you like best later 😉
@delta points- you can cancel your account and resubscribe to another program. I cancelled an account for Hilton and opened an account for delta. Now I guess I’m going to have to transfer yet again! And just a note, make sure you transfer points to the rewards partner if you are closing and opening a new account. Points won’t transfer with you.

@Stephan – really not at all. I know some things but this has nothing to do with that. This is for other reasons.
According to the mail I received from e-miles, you’ll have more flexibility in 2013 despite the loss of Delta. You’ll be able to trade their dollars for Amazon cards and other stuff, at varying price points. So it’s not all bad. I’m at 320 right now, no way I’m going to manage to accumulate another 180 points in the remainder of 2013.
