Darn, my delta skymiles number is not eligible for the 75% bonus 🙁
I actually went to one of the links for the targeted bonus for the Platinum card, and it said I was already registered and I have been holding the card for 5 years
No go for me. Should I create a “new” account and merge them later?

I actually found this link random after signing up for a skymiles account back in June. I don’t know what’s the criteria, I tried putting in my friends skymiles number and they didn’t work. Mine and my family did, they were all created in June.
Follow up: Everytime I do a partner activity…e-miles, rewards network dining, or anything like that, I got a 500 bonus miles on top of that activity. I have about 2000 bonus miles for far since registering for this promo. I don’t have any flight with DL anytime soon, but it’s still nice just in case.
looks like my son will get his first skymiles account, hopefully 1 year olds are elgible 🙂

lets say … someone without an account signs up for a delta sky miles account. next, s/he uses the promo link you provided. Does s/he get any miles automatically just for joining skymiles and signing up for the promo – or does s/he have to fly, make a purchase, etc. to accrue bonus miles?

you misunderstood. I was not suggesting anything wrong. I was actually thinking of friends who have children who may not have skymile accounts yet.
I was asking a real question. if someone who legitimately does not have a skymiles account signs up and enrolls in the promo – how many miles do they receive automatically for the sign up?

@Kathy – wooppsiee – OK sure. There is no real bonus just for signing up and doing nothing as far as I can tell by the T&C.
My current skymiles has zero miles. I have 4 trips booked from Sep to Nov . I am thinking about to close the current one and open the new account to tams advantage of this. Any reason why not do this? Thanks
@Puch – the only reason I can think of is that it is against the rules and if Delta catches you they may shut down your skymiles account. So, your call. 🙂
