The Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas is a big, beautiful ship. Per Wikipedia it holds 5,606 passengers at double occupancy and started sailing late in 2009. Our resident RCI expert MJ sailed on her sister ship before and liked how big the ship is and busy but the neighborhood concept makes it feel less crowded. On his sailing he booked the Central Park interior balcony and while enjoying the uniqueness he prefers an ocean view.
Clearly this is a nice cruise ship.
One woman, Lexus Moorer, of Raleigh, North Carolina, according to local10.com, booked her family on Oasis of the Seas and spend a whopping $22,425 on the once in a lifetime cruise.
I say once in a lifetime because upon returning home she went to jail.
Why?
Well dailycaller.com tells us this is how she paid for the sailing.
“Police officers arrested a 31-year-old woman named Lexus Moorer on Sunday morning in Miami for allegedly stealing eight credit cards to fund her $22,425 family vacation to the Caribbean.“
Ouch!
I am all for free, or nearly free cruises like the 11 night one I booked on Holland America recently from my Caesar’s match offer – but the way Lexus Moorer did it is sure not the way to go about it.
Now she is, again according to local10.com:
“Facing eight counts of grand theft, eight counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, and four counts of unlawful possession of a stolen credit card, according to county records.“
For the kind of money she spent, my guess is she had a very nice cabin or two on the Royal Caribbean ship. But now staring at that many felony charges I bet her new accommodations — while offering free meals each day — will be a very small interior room for a long time to come (unlimited drink packages not included).
