The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is Chase’s no-annual-fee business workhorse — a card that earns 1.5% cash back on everything without asking you to memorize a single category. It won’t win any glamour awards. But for business owners who want a simple, consistent earner that pulls double duty as an Ultimate Rewards accumulator when paired with a premium Chase card, it punches well above its $0 price tag.

Cash Back Earnings
The Ink Business Unlimited® keeps it simple: 1.5X on everything. No quarterly activations, no spending caps on bonus categories, no mental overhead. For a business card you hand to employees or use for miscellaneous spend, that consistency is actually the feature.
What kind of points does the Ink Business Unlimited® earn? Ultimate Rewards points — which redeem as straight cash back (at one cent per point) or become significantly more valuable when pooled with a card that unlocks transfer partners. Redeem for cash back, travel through Chase Travel℠, gift cards, or shop with points at Amazon and PayPal. No minimum redemption required.
Partner Benefits & Perks
For a no-annual-fee card, the Ink Business Unlimited® comes with a few genuine perks worth knowing.
Lyft — 5X Through September 2027
Earn 5% cash back on Lyft rides through September 30, 2027. If you’re already using Lyft for business travel, this is an easy win on top of the base 1.5X.
Instacart+ Membership & Monthly Credit
Cardmembers receive a complimentary 3-month Instacart+ membership (which auto-renews at $99/year after the complimentary period — cancel before if you don’t want it). Once activated, Instacart+ members also receive a $20 monthly credit automatically loaded to their Instacart Business Account. Benefit runs through December 31, 2027. Enrollment required.
0% Intro APR on Purchases
New cardmembers get 0% intro APR for 12 months from account opening on purchases. After that, a variable APR of 16.74%–24.74% applies. If you’re financing a business purchase or managing cash flow on a new account, this is a real benefit — just don’t let the intro period lull you into carrying a balance past month 12.
Employee Cards at No Additional Cost
Add employee cards at no additional cost and set individual spending limits. All employee spend earns cash back for your business, and you get purchase alerts, quarterly reports, and up to 24 months of statement history to track it.
Purchase & Travel Protections
The Ink Business Unlimited® doesn’t have the deep travel protection suite of the Ink Preferred or Sapphire Reserve — there’s no trip cancellation, no trip delay, no baggage coverage. What it does have covers the business essentials.
- Auto Rental Coverage — Primary coverage when renting for business purposes, up to $60,000 for theft and collision damage on most vehicles with an MSRP of $125,000 or less. Decline the rental company’s collision insurance and charge the full rental to the card.
- Purchase Protection — Covers eligible new purchases against damage or theft for 120 days from the date of purchase, up to $10,000 per item. (New York residents: 90 days.)
- Extended Warranty Protection — Extends the U.S. manufacturer’s warranty by one additional year on eligible warranties of three years or less.
- Roadside Assistance — Dispatch available for towing, jumpstarts, tire changes, locksmith service, and gas delivery. Service fees billed to your card at time of dispatch.
- Travel and Emergency Assistance — Legal and medical referrals plus access to other travel and emergency assistance services when you’re away from home. (You’re responsible for the cost of any goods or services obtained.)
- Fraud Protection — Zero Liability Protection means you won’t be held responsible for unauthorized charges. Chase monitors for fraud 24/7 with text, email, or call alerts for unusual purchases.
Verify coverage details and exclusions in the card’s Guide to Benefits, provided after account opening.
Redeeming Your Cash Back
Ultimate Rewards points earned on the Ink Business Unlimited® redeem at one cent per point for cash back — straightforward, no complexity. Redemption options include:
- Statement credit or direct deposit — Cash back applied directly to your account or deposited to an eligible checking account.
- Chase Travel℠ — Book flights, hotels, car rentals, and more through Chase’s travel portal.
- Gift cards — 175+ brands, including Apple® products.
- Shop with points — Use points at Amazon.com checkout or with PayPal.
No minimum redemption required — your cash back is available whenever you want it.
Unlocking More Value: The Pooling Strategy
This is the move that separates savvy Ink Unlimited cardholders from everyone else. Ultimate Rewards points can be pooled across Chase accounts. If your business also holds an Ink Business Preferred® (which earns 3X on travel and common business categories), you can transfer all your Ink Unlimited points into the Preferred account — and from there, transfer them 1:1 to airline and hotel partners like United MileagePlus, Hyatt, and Air Canada Aeroplan.
At 1.5X base on every purchase, you’re accumulating transfer-eligible points at a rate most no-fee cards can’t touch. The card that looks like a simple cash back card is actually a transfer partner feeder — if you use it that way.
Flight Plan
The Ink Business Unlimited® earns its place not by being flashy but by being reliable. There’s something underrated about a card that does the same thing on every swipe: 1.5X, no questions asked. No need to remember which category gets 3X this quarter. No cap to track. No category exclusions to navigate. For catch-all spend — especially on employee cards — that simplicity compounds over time.
The welcome offer math works clearly: $750 back on $6,000 in spending is a 12.5% return on that first chunk of spend. For a $0-annual-fee card, that’s a strong on-ramp.
The honest knock: 1.5X as a ceiling is starting to look modest. The no-annual-fee Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express earns 2X on the first $50,000 in purchases per year. And the 3% foreign transaction fee makes this a card to leave at home on international trips.
On its own, it’s a perfectly decent no-fee cash back card. Paired with a premium Chase card, it becomes a surprisingly efficient points accumulator. Which version you’re getting depends entirely on what else is in your wallet.
Apply if:
- You want a no-fee business card that earns consistently on every purchase without category management
- You already hold (or plan to hold) an Ink Business Preferred® or Chase Sapphire Reserve® — the pooling strategy is where the real value is
- You use Lyft for business travel and want to maximize the 5X rate through 2027
- You’re looking for a card to hand to employees without worrying about category optimization
- You want the 0% intro APR window for a planned business purchase
Think twice if:
- You frequently travel internationally — the 3% foreign transaction fee adds up fast
- You’re looking for a higher earnings ceiling — the no-fee Blue Business® Plus from American Express earns 2X on the first $50,000 in purchases annually
- You don’t hold another Chase card — the points are worth more when they have somewhere to go
- Your business spending is concentrated in specific categories where another card earns 2X–5X
