Ready for 5X points on dining? One of our favorite no-annual-fee cards will feature that promotion on New Year’s Day! Plus, you can save money on Norwegian Cruise Lines and donations to the American Heart Association.
Here we are already: the January through March 2026 bonus categories for the Chase Freedom Flex®®!
(All information about the Chase Freedom Flex® card was collected independently by Eye of the Flyer. It has not been reviewed by the card issuer.)
Chase Freedom Flex® Q1 Categories
You can earn 5X bonus Chase points on eligible purchases made at/with:
- Dining
- Norwegian Cruise Lines
- American Heart Association donations
This promotion is for Chase Freedom Flex® cardmembers and people who hold the legacy Chase Freedom card (which is no longer open to new applicants). The promotional period runs from January 1 through March 31, 2026. (All information about the Chase Freedom Flex® card was collected independently by Eye of the Flyer. It has not been reviewed by the card issuer.)
A maximum of 7,500 points can be earned back during the promotion. (That’s $1,500 in spending.) We love Chase points because you can transfer them to a travel partner, use them to pay for travel through Chase Travel℠, apply them for statement credit, get cashback transferred to your bank account, and a few other options.
Enrollment is required and you can do that here. You have until March 14 to sign up. So, if you don’t yet have a no-annual-fee Chase Freedom Flex®, there’s still plenty of time to become a member and take advantage of the savings.
And the welcome promotion is super easy: earn 20,000 bonus points (or $200 cashback) after spending just $500 in eligible purchases within the first three (3) months of being approved for the card. (If you live in or visit California, that’s only a few gas tanks’ worth of fill-ups!)
Quick Thoughts
5X on Dining is fantastic. I usually put those purchases on my American Express® Gold Card, which earns 4X Membership Rewards® points at restaurants worldwide (on up to $50,000 per calendar year in purchases, then 1X, including takeout and delivery in the U.S. Terms apply.). But I’ll probably use my Chase Flex for dining until I max out the earnings.

Cruises can get expensive pretty quickly. So, saving anything certainly helps. The 5X earnings on NCL will be great — and I’m sure René deLambert, our resident cruise expert, will use all of his and Mrs. de L’s Freedoms and Flexes to rack up the savings on NCL bookings!
Donations to the AHA is a wonderful gesture — especially for people who have it as one of their favorite charities. (Note to Chase: please make the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network one of your eligible charities sometime — although they kind of do through PayPal!)
Happy shopping and earning!
