I swear, even stuck on the ground for months now, 2025 is flying by faster than any other year of my life. I mean Q2 is just about over and I have been busy, literally, eating up my quarterly Hilton credits on my four cards that offer quarterly perks. With that let’s look back on this past week:
Chris reminds us that you have very little time now to make sure you are harvesting all of the credits, bonus offer and deals you get from your travel cards before the 1st of July. Some of them you must register for while others are automatic. Just don’t let them go unused please.
If you are not flying in a premium cabin or have status with an airline you are going to have to pay bag fees (if you are checking them). How do you go about avoiding them? Hold, and sometimes, use the right card. Here are some options to consider.
This week we have an update to the situation where the Norwegian Epic, due to high winds, was pushed from the dock resulting in a woman falling off the gangway and going into the water. Not just this but now we see shocking video of bollards being ripped from the dock and impacting the ship. So scary!
American airlines first class domestically is so much better than the coach experience. How much better you ask? Our friend Michael has a review including the AA club.
Lounges are still packed and Capital One is ending one of the best perks of the card soon. While sad, I am not shocked.
Have you stayed at the Hotel Indigo San Diego? How about a room with a stadium view? We have a review this week.
Lastly one of the largest card bonus offers I have ever seen in my life is ending soon. Yes it requires A LOT of spend but 3/4 of MILLION points from just one card? Wow!
Have a great weekend everyone and I hope your flights are on time, all your upgrades clear and the refreshments are free! – René
