I have spent the past week or so earning mega bonus points from new travel cards and have my next great adventure just about buttoned up. I have my air to the port booked, the hotel pre and post cruise booked and I am working on the final return leg – all on points! Cruise vacations can be so much cheaper when you use points for everything you can. But enough about me, let’s look at the week that was:
Boy oh boy did Chris light a match this week and the comments were intense when it come to the topic of children in airline clubs. So readers expressed that if you are under 21 you have NO BUSINESS entering a lounge period! Take a look and see what you think.
Have you ever had dinner with the captain of your cruise ship? I have had that privilege a number of times and sometime even just my wife and I and the captain. This cruise he shared a remarkable story about a man overboard and they were able to save the man! See how.
I have been at the points game for a long time now (anyone remember THE Frugal Travel Guy?). But I have to say this is the first time I have ever seen a 3/4 of a MILLION point offer. Yes it requires a bunch of spend but gee whiz that is a LOT of points. Are you up for the challenge?
We all dislike that large, or really large, annual fee that most Amex cards charge us. But there are ways to soften the blow and sometimes even come out ahead for the year if you take advantage of all their offers they send you. If you are a Delta flyer check out the 20% offer you may have available to you (yes, it is targeted).
It is not easy to fly with kids. Sometimes they just are not happy and nothing can make them happy. Chris this week has some advice that all of us can benefit from.
Staying with Chris and his travels he just finished up some international travel. Choosing the right travel card matters when flying outside the USA. Take a look at the cards Chris chose to bring with him.
Lastly, and I have said this over and over and over week after week after week, the best time to go for new cards is when the offers are HUGE. One of the best travel cards has just such an offer and it is a big 150k! See if you qualify for this one.
I hope you are having a great weekend and if not on vacation somewhere nice then you are doing what I am, that is, accumulating points to make the next one a trip you can afford by letting points do that work for you! – René
