I loved listening to American Top 40 with Casey Kasem and Rick Dees’ Weekly Top 40 radio programs when I was a kid. They aired on Y-94, my local pop-rock station in Fargo, North Dakota, each weekend. I later dabbled in radio and deejaying.)
Some travel reward credit card promotions dropped during the past couple of weeks. A few others expire soon. So, I figured we’d do a Top 5 Credit Card Welcome Offers Countdown this weekend!
For our inaugural countdown, I’m considering the value of a card promotion and how easy it is to meet its minimum spending requirement. For example, the Capital One Venture X Business just launched a promo that allows you to earn up to 750,000 total Miles. But it requires a lot of spending. That isn’t in this countdown. At least, for now.
Much like the music countdowns, I’m sure this one will have some controversy. 🙂
As Kasey would say: on with the countdown!

5: IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card
Two-part offers seem to be the new thing. The IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card has one. (All information about the IHG Business Credit Card was collected independently by Eye of the Flyer. It was neither provided nor reviewed by the card issuer.)
You earn up to 200,000 IHG One Rewards points. First, earn 140,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases within three (3) months of being approved. Then, you can earn another 60,000 bonus points if you spend $9,000 total within the first six (6) months of being approved. (Not an additional $9,000, even though I’m sure Chase and IHG would love that.
The offer expires on April 30, 2025.
You can have some fun with 200,000 points. Remember that the IHG One Rewards Credit Card portfolio comes with a “Fourth Night Free” feature. When you use points to pay for three consecutive nights of a stay, your fourth is on the house (well, rate and taxes).
The IHG Business Card has a $99 annual fee and also comes with complimentary Platinum elite status.
We don’t have a link to the promotion. You can go either directly through Chase. Better yet, please support another blogger on the Boarding Area network who does.

4. Hilton Honors American Express Cards (Two Tied)
Four of Hilton’s cobranded cards feature pretty good promotions through April 29. Two of them are especially noteworthy. They include nice bonus point offers plus Free Nights that can be used at a lot of great properties throughout the Hilton portfolio (including all-inclusives).
The Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card offers 130,000 Hilton Honors bonus points and a Free Night after you spend $3,000 in eligible purchases on the card within the first six (6) months of being approved for card membership. This offer expires on April 29, 2025, and terms apply.
Hilton Amex Surpass cardholders can earn up to $50 in statement credit each quarter for eligible purchases made directly with a property in the Hilton portfolio. The card’s annual fee is $150. (See Rates and Fees.)
But I think the best card to actually hold is the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card (By the way, this isn’t an affiliate link, so we’re not paid a commission. We might get a few Amex points. All information about the Hilton Aspire Card was collected independently by Eye of the Flyer. It was neither provided nor reviewed by the card issuer.) It’s absolutely loaded with perks. The card’s annual fee is $550 but the card’s benefits and statement credit opportunities easily help you come out ahead — and that’s before the annual fee night award. (Rates and Fees)
The Hilton Aspire Amex Card offers 175,000 bonus Hilton Honors points after spending $6,000 in eligible purchases within three (3) months of being approved for the card. This offer expires on April 29, 2025. (Terms apply.). Read more here on American Express’ website.

3. The Business Platinum Card® from American Express
The Business Platinum Card® from American Express allows you to earn bonus points and get statement credit for some flights. You can earn 150,000 bonus American Express® Membership Rewards® points after you spend $20,000 on eligible purchases on the card within the first three (3) months of being approved for card membership. Plus, earn a $500 statement credit after you spend $2,500 on qualifying flights booked directly with airlines or through American Express Travel with your Business Platinum Card within the first 3 months of Card Membership. You can earn one or both of these offers. This offer expires on June 30, 2025. Terms apply.
I don’t love that the offer requires a chunk of spend so quickly. But there are people who can make $20k happen in a hurry. (Don’t do that if you can’t afford it!) The Amex Business Platinum carries a $695 annual fee but is loaded with benefits. (One of ours is the 35% Pay With Points Rebate)
Learn here how to apply for this offer.

2: Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
This Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card‘s offer is pretty fun: earn 75,000 bonus Miles after spending $4,000 on eligible purchases within three (3) months of being approved for card membership. Plus, receive a one-time $250 Capital One Travel credit to use during the first cardholder year — regardless of whether or not you meet the minimum spending requirement.
That’s worth at least $1,000 in travel. It’s a limited-time offer but no expiration date has been disclosed.
Key benefits include Capital One Lounge access for $45 a person; access to Capital One Travel’s LIfestyle Hotel Collection; up to $120 in statement credit every four (4) years when using the card to pay for one (1) Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® application fee
The card’s annual fee is $95. But again, you can earn at least $1,000 in bonuses alone. (Read more and learn here how to apply)
1: Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card
Here’s the offer to really consider.
You can earn 100,000 bonus Chase points after spending $5,000 in purchases within three (3) months of being approved for the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. (You can read more and learn here how to apply.) We’ve seen it teased as a limited-time offer but there’s no expiration date printed.
(All information about the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card® Card was collected independently by Eye of the Flyer. It was neither provided nor reviewed by the card issuer.)
If memory serves, this is the card’s best ever offer.
We like Chase points because they’re so flexible. You can use them for travel, statement credit, cash back, gift cards, and more.
Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card members can redeem Chase points at a 25% bonus when using them for Chase Travel℠ purchases. For example, 50,000 points is $625 (62,500 points) toward airline, hotel, cruise, car rental purchases, etc. Chase also has a bunch of points transfer partners.
There are plenty of ways you can earn points through spending on the card:
- 10X bonus each anniversary year on each dollar you spent the previous year!
- 5X on Lyft purchases through September 2027
- 5X on travel purchased through Chase Travel℠
- 3X on dining
- 3X on select streaming services
- 3X on online grocery purchases
The card has a $95 annual fee but that’s easily offset by the welcome bonus, statement credit offers, annual 10X bonus gift, and more.
Read more and learn here how to apply.
That’s it for now. Maybe I’ll add a request and dedication next time.
