On the side of the FA in the story about the “disturbing message.” Sure it was a little snarky, but calling out people who are ignoring the directions of the flight crew and safety video needs some weight behind it. They’ve already been asked nicely, it’s fine if the “reminder” can be a bit sharper.
Even if you fly all the time, just be polite to the crew who are asking you to pay attention for a measly couple minutes. I know I’m not always great in emergencies (sometimes jump into action, sometimes freeze), but having the safety information drilled into my head over and over may be the difference someday…
