I hope you’re having a great weekend!
My family enjoyed a wonderful — and eventful — trip to Walnut Creek, California, and celebrated Thanksgiving with my wife’s side of the clan.
It started Tuesday in Los Angeles when we boarded our Delta Air Lines flight to San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Our six-year-old gave flight attendants a care package consisting of candy and a drawing. They were so surprised and appreciative that they insisted she visit the cockpit.
Around 8:00 PM on Wednesday night, I got ready to brine our turkey. I opened the bird I Instacarted to my brother- and sister-in-law’s house late last week. (Long story.)
It smelled like sulfur.
In case you’re wondering, it is possible to find fresh, thawed turkeys on Thanksgiving Eve. But you might pay through the nose — or beak, as it were.
I grilled our bird and it came out great.
My daughter and her cousins had a great time playing together. But it seems my kiddo has her first romance — with a Star Wars stormtrooper?! 🙂 (I think I know which two cousins put her up to it.)
(She broke up with him before we left for the plane ride home. True story.)
On Friday night, she experienced a childhood rite of passage: losing a tooth! She left a note for the Tooth Fairy — who somehow got past hotel security and found our room!
We wrapped up our trip by flying Delta from SFO. Every staff member we encountered — from check-in to the folks at the Sky Club — was absolutely fantastic and memorable (in a good way!). I’ll write more about it later in the week.
We kept busy on the blog, too.
There’s still time to take advantage of Nomad Lane’s big sale.
Check out this bizarre tale of a Delta passenger who boarded a plane — on the wrong day?
You can also score $40 bonus cash or 4,000 bonus Amex Membership Rewards points through Rakuten.
A family — presumably of humans, though you wouldn’t know — trashed a table at a Delta Sky Club. Gross.
What do you think about robot table service?
You can earn bonus SkyMiles by purchasing Delta eGift cards during a limited-time promotion.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and commenting on the blog!
