Thanks to the mighty schedule change rule I had some time on my way back from Sweden last trip to go check out the new International Terminal F in Atlanta (ATL). First off, anyone can get to F as long as you are cleared through security. The “plane train” takes you around some fun curves and you get a peak at the underside of the baggage area on the way.

You will go up two sets of escalators to get to the main floor of the terminal.

Then you will be greeted by the immense crystal chandelier that cost, I have been told, a cool 1.2 million! The food court on the upper level is very nice, open and clean as well as across from the entrance to the Skyclub.

The Skyclub is very nice and very bright as light floods in from all over. It is spread out and that makes it “feel” even bigger.

The bar area is nice and they have a bunch of different beers on tap all complementary!

The snack area is the standard Delta goodies and I like the open feel here too.

There is a media room

And even a small upstairs area

I love the wall art that looks almost like a paper airplane. (I am such a geek)

There are also 8 showers in this lounge. For now the word has not got out how nice this lounge is so I would try it if you need a shower fast as the others can have a wait at times.

We chose to sit in the wing area off the bar. The views were just so sweet.

Not just of the jets so close that it feels like you can reach out and touch them!

You also have views of the runways left and right as well as the tower “towering” over you.

I love our Skyclubs. I love time to decompress between flights. I love WiFi, beer and wine and a chance to shower when I need it. I LOVE that my Delta AMEX Reserve card gets me and up to two more buddies in for free. But do keep in mind that if you have the GOLD or PLAT Delta AMEX it is just $25 to get in.

So there is my review of the new ATL “F” club. If you have not had a chance to see it yet, make the time. – René

I was just here an hour ago. Dropped a friend off who’s going to NRT. Pretty nice place. Super easy to get in and out. Since her flight was the first flight of the day security was a breeze.

Looks awesome. Wish I’d dropped in when I flew into terminal F on DL 16 last Friday.

The new Sky Club looks good. Maybe I’ll have a chance to drop by in September when going on vacation in the States. ATL will be my port of entry 😉 and … of leaving 🙁
There is one thing though that I prefer at the Sky Club at LAX: that’s the self serve bar.
The staff I’ve encountered so far was always very friendly but I’d prefer to not “bother” them for simply having a few Coke Zeros …
But other than that I’m looking forward to hop into the new lounge. Well, it will be on my back home … but I’ll enjoy it nevertheless.

    Hi Rene,

My group of 4 has a redeye flight and we arrive in ATL this Saturday at 6:25am and have a 2 hour 45 minute layover before departing for Jamaica from the International Terminal.

We all have Sky Club access. I was thinking about the Sky Club in Terminal E until I saw this review. I just want to take a shower, clean up, and enjoy a bloody mary or two.

@Scott – there a BUNCH of showers in the F club. They are new and nice (just have a fan problem as of late but no major deal)! Enjoy – Rene

I was personally very disappointed that the staff in the Delta Sky Club (F termimal) were unwilling to put my three little cards (for my grandmas!) in their outgoing mail. I’ve never had that request refused before, and she was just very rude and unhelpful about it. The Starbucks employee was nicer! As a loyal Delta member for most of my life I was unimpressed and disappointed. (her suggestion was to go all the way to the Domestic terminal, go outside of security and use the drop box there. No thanks, I’d actually like to make my connecting international flight.)

@Christina – I hear you but to be fair to them I don’t think they have mail service anymore and there could be rule and security issues in place now (I think I remember being told that once).
