If you love animals — and/or are just a sensible human being — get ready for your blood to boil.
A video posted to Reddit shows a TSA officer jerking his security dog’s leash violently inside the Detroit airport — at times lifting the canine’s feet off the ground and dragging the pup.
Redditor “ProfessionalEye3568” posted the video to the Delta subreddit and said it was filmed from a Delta Sky Club. The Redditor wrote:
I was shocked at how this airport handler is dragging this poor pup around. There’s no reason anyone should be flipping a working dog around by it’s harness like this?! I have a high energy dog so at first I assumed it was a mistake or that the puppy was a bit over energetic but looks like the handler is just being unnecessarily rough with it.
“ProfessionalEye3568” said the incident occurred on Sunday, May 7, at 11:30 AM inside DTW’s McNamara Terminal.
The TSA provided this statement to Eye of the Flyer:
Video showing a TSA explosive detection canine handler aggressively pulling a dog working in a Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) terminal was shared with local leadership Sunday morning.
The behavior displayed by this handler is unacceptable and not within the high standards we hold our officers to.
TSA officials at DTW have removed the employee from handling duties pending completion of an investigation, and directed that the canine be taken immediately to a veterinarian for a wellness exam.
A TSA spokesperson told us the dog was taken to a veterinarian and is OK.

Thanks for reporting on this, very sincerely hoping it gets traction and this dog gets away from this guy.
You’re welcome —- but credit really goes to the Redditor who filmed it.
Another worthless piece of [redacted] TSA employee. TSA needs to be abolished. A disgrace to the American people.
Video was pulled.
