Diplo — a popular DJ and record producer — apparently enjoys being generous.
Last year, he paid for 100 people’s meals at a Chipotle restaurant. Just because he could.
His most recent giveaway? Expiring Delta Air Lines drink coupons. (Maybe we inspired him?)
“I fly so much that I ended with over 250 unused Delta drink vouchers that were about to expire, so I sent my assistant to LAX give them out to people,” {sic} Diplo posted on TikTok. “I told him to send me proof he actually did it and he sent me this.”

Then the video cuts to footage of someone handing out enlarged Delta drink coupons to random passengers in pre-security areas of LAX’s Terminal 3. On the back of the vouchers, there’s a note:
“I fly so much I ended up with all these free Delta drink tickets. No way I can use them before they expire so please have a drink on me in honor of my new song ‘Wasted’ (featuring) Kodak Black and Koe Wetzel(.) Safe travels, Diplo”
There’s a QR code that presumably leads to the song, but our attempts at getting a good scan from the screenshots were unsuccessful.
“I think he spent over 2 hours there lol,” Diplo says about his assistant. “And said he put the last 100 of them by the TSA entrance.”
How Did Diplo Get 250 Delta Drink Tickets?
Here’s what we wonder: how in the world did Diplo happen to have 250 drink coupons just sitting around?
The Delta drink vouchers displayed in the TikTok video appear to be the kind Delta Medallion members receive each year they hold elite status. But that’s limited to four coupons a year.
Now, a bunch of readers donated tickets to our most recent giveaway. A couple of people gave us 20 a piece (everyone who entered won at least two!) thanks to extended expiration dates. So, did Diplo ask his traveling entourage (if, indeed, he has one) to kick in their drink tickets? Do Delta agents just hand them out to him because he’s famous? A combination of the two?
I’m super curious about this.
Regardless, it’s a great gesture on Diplo’s part — and good marketing for his new song! (I hope he doesn’t get in trouble for duplicating the vouchers if that’s what he had to do in order to enlarge them.)
