An airline pilot assumed he gave his passengers a warm welcome to New York soon after arriving. But instead, he accidentally broadcasted the message to everyone on his air traffic control frequency.
The air traffic controller — and several fellow pilots — made sure he paid for it.
We don’t know when this happened or for which airline the pilot flies. (Probably just as well for everyone involved.) The moment was memorialized on TikTok and also on this Reddit thread.
It’s quick, light, and funny. Give it a listen below:
I imagine this happens from time to time. On the flip side, I’ve heard meant-for-ATC chatter accidentally broadcast in the cabin before. Stuff like, “Contacting L.A. Center on 126.525…” or “Right turn to heading 1-8-0…” As an AvGeek, I absolutely love it. 🙂

Used to happen at least once a day on my shift.
Did you encourage pilots to pile on the offender or nah?
