We wrote last weekWe wrote last week that Delta announced rollover MQM would begin to post on Sunday, January 2.
Right as rain, MQM popped up in some accounts on Sunday morning. I know of some Diamond and Platinum Medallion members whose rollover MQM appeared yesterday.
Did yours show up?
Remember, Delta is rolling over any and all MQM to 2022. You don’t have to be a Medallion to enjoy the MQM rollover benefit this year.
Please let us know in the Comments section below when your MQM roll over — and what your status level is (Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, or general SkyMiles member).

Got my rollover!
My MQMs did roll over January 2, and I am Diamond.
Good morning everyone!,
I am a Platinum and my roll over MQM’s showed up on Sunday. My wife is a Silver medallion and her miles were posted as of this morning (Monday).
Happy New Year, Chris (and Rene)!
Newly minted Platinum Medallion, MQM actually rolled over on Saturday night!
Here’s to a great year of travel and writing about travel! Cheers!
We’re a diamond and a platinum. Both were updated and correct, first thing yesterday (1/2/22) morning with I checked.
Mine rolled over already, probably yesterday….Platinum.
My MQM rollover occurred yesterday. I’ve been Diamond since September, Platinum for a few years prior.
Happy New Year!
I am a platinum medallion member and my MQM rolled over yesterday. I missed Diamond status by $4,888, I had the MQMs.
I missed it by $2,500. Kinda hurts a bit haha. Platinum member here.
I hit the Diamond MQD requirements and missed MQMs by 1,295. Not only that but my flights on the 31st were delayed by weather. Would’ve hit Diamond otherwise. Can’t even get someone on the phone to discuss the matter due to current hold times and the state of things…
Hold on to your boarding passes (electronic or physical) and try contacting next week when things (hopefully) slow down.
@Cat, maybe try “Reclaim My Status” if that doesn’t work? It’s too bad they didn’t send out an end of year option to buy the missing amount like they did in previous years.
@David, that’s a shame, most people get the MQM and miss MQD, hopefully they will appreciate your high spending enough to be flexible, I am sure it will be easier than if you had met the MQM and missed MQD by $1295.
Platinum here. When I checked Sunday morning (1/2) rollover MQMs had already posted … very impressed with Delta IT this time around.
Happy New Year. Mine posted noticed yesterday, not sure on timing. Diamond.
My rollovers have not posted yet and everything is zeroed out. I’ll call tomorrow to inquire why I didnt get a rollover.
What’s your SkyMiles status, Jose?
Rolled over 1/2, Diamond
I’m a Diamond and rolled over sometime on the 1st. My +1 rolled over on the 2nd. She ‘s gold.
My 81,000 MQM’s rolled over yesterday.
First time Platinum.
My wife reached Silver in 2021, and her MQMs rolled over late last night or early this morning. She’ll have enough MQMs for Gold pretty soon – but I don’t think we’ll have enough MQDs to get her there.
I’m just a “member” and my MQMs have not rolled yet. I will be very close to Silver myself once those post.
Thanks, Earl. Would you please let us know when your MQM roll over?
Just to close the loop – as a regular “member” my MQMs rolled over sometime overnight last night. I’ll hit enough MQMs for “silver” on my next flight to BOS and back. I think we’ll have to continue to rely on my wife’s more frequent trips to see our grandson to keep earning Silver status, as I’m not sure I’ll hit the MQDs needed. We’ll see!
Thanks for the data point, Earl! I know I sound like a broken record but the partner runs could be a great way to earn Silver status MQD. That could probably be knocked out in one trip.
(Also, I’m curious how long I can keep using the phrase “broken record” because it’s completely outdated. Even “a skipping compact disc” is going to be obsolete soon! 🙂 )
Thanks Chris. I’m pretty new to the status game, so the “partner run” article is really helpful.
Mine rolled over on the 1st or 2nd, and I am showing as Diamond as I should (I earned it).
Thanks, Dave. Gotta say, I’m impressed that the general SkyMiles members getting MQM on January 3!
190k MQM rolled over 1/2 and I’m diamond.
Now the question is what value do MQM have? My biggest trouble was getting MQD for my diamond status.
Not sure if you’re familiar with them, but MQD runs on Delta’s partner airlines can be a great way to earn MQD for a fraction of the cost.
Thanks and really appreciate the blog and all that you post.
I am familiar with mileage runs on partner airlines and did one with Aeromexico to get over the last hump for Diamond this year. I have to say, Aeromexico and the Mexico City airport are two of the most miserable experiences I’ve had in my flying history. It stinks that Aeromexico is the de-facto mileage run partner due to their transatlantic fares in business.
Thanks for the comment, JB. We’ll keep our peeled for more KLM and AF runs, though they’d most likely be Premium Economy. And I don’t know that China Eastern will be a good option for a while (or ever again). Maybe Point.Me can whip up some magic, too.
I’m Platinum. My 104,829 MQMs rolled over on Jan 2. No idea what to do with that. I can’t afford to spend $250,000 on my cards, and we’ve been doing only minimally necessary travel due to Covid. (My husband and I are senior citizens with significant risk factors)
Maybe wait until later in the year and resume traveling then. Get enough MQD and MQM to earn at least Silver and roll over a bunch of MQM to 2023.
I had 170k MQM rolled over so my question is regarding 2023. Assuming this is a “normal” year and I re-qualify for Diamond by spending $15k with Delta, will any MQM over 125k rollover again into 2023?
Correct. The 45K difference (170k-125k) plus whatever you earn will count toward Diamond. So you’ll need to earn at least 80k MQM (plus the $15k MQD).
