I can’t tell you how I excited I get when a rare opportunity comes along to type the words “Atlanta to (Destination) Delta Mileage Run.” (And I think there are going to be a bunch of them thanks to Delta boosting its MQM, MQS, and MQD earnings for the rest of 2021.)
And here we have a fairly simple run from Atlanta to Las Vegas. No connections or stops, unfortunately. But it can be achieved during a single Saturday night and under $200 in Main Cabin!
It gets better (well, for some people).
Both flights for this particular itinerary are aboard 767-400s. And Delta.com currently shows availability to upgrade to Delta One Suites using an Upgrade Certificate! So if you have a couple of certs available, you can get some sleep on the way there and during the ride home!
It should yield 5241 MQM and $236 MQD — for a price of $191.20.
Our example run leaves Saturday night, May 15 and returns back to ATL just before 7:00 AM on Sunday morning. (This is not Mother’s Day Weekend.)
I know the MQM and MQD figures don’t reflect the 50% bonuses. Keep in mind Delta wrote, “April 1-May 15, 2021 travel, bonus MQMs, MQSs and MQDs will be retroactively credited to your account by May 31, 2021. If you don’t see them immediately after your flight during this time period, know they’ll be credited soon.”
There’s another flight that departs ATL a little later in the evening. This way, you wouldn’t have the three-hour layover in LAS. But it’s on a 737-900ER. So no lie-flats. Departures earlier in the day are also available for a few bucks more in case you want to visit the Strip or somewhere else in Vegas.
Other dates are also available throughout May — some with the option to stay a night.
- Cost: $191.20
- Dates: Please see above.
- Route: ATL-LAS-ATL
- MQM: 5,231 (3.6 CPM)
- MQD: $236
- Base SkyMiles: 1413

You say 2021 bonus is all year and then you say Keep in mind Delta wrote, “April 1-May 15, 2021 travel, bonus MQMs, MQSs and MQDs will be retroactively credited to your account by May 31, 2021. Is the bonus all year or only until may?
It’s effective April 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
People who fly between April 1-May 15 may take a while to see their bonuses applied to their accounts.
@Chris, I just got back from a RT ATL-HNL on a 767-400 in Delta One. If they call these seats “suites,” technically they are not. They are very nice, and a HUGE improvement over the old 767 D1 seats, but they are not suites. They do not have a door – which is just fine by me. Lots of storage room – even storage for a bag at your feet under the seat in front of you, but I don’t think they can be called suites.
Thanks for the comment, Don. I’m not Delta’s marketing and branding person. 🙂
I also see many dates LAS-ATL $196 also if so inclined one can spend a night or two in ATL. How do you know though “shows availability to upgrade to Delta One Suites using an Upgrade Certificate” where do you check for availability? Thanks
Hi, Tony. We give a quick example in this post.
Thanks, Chris that’s awesome didn’t know Delta now shows upgrade availability. Lesson learned; see what happens if you don’t read every Rene’s Points post will try to do better in the future!
All good! Based on my experiences, you need to be logged in to see availability, so just a heads-up on that front.
