The historic Delta Flight Museum unveiled a new piece: a classic DC-7B that flew for the airline several decades ago!
The plane was recently added to the museum’s collection after an extensive repaint and restoration project.

Delta re-acquired the aircraft — ship number 717 — a couple of years ago. It still bears the original registration: N4887C.

Here’s the plane’s final flight: from the sunny, warm desert to rather cold-looking ATL.
The plane flew for Delta from 1957 until 1968. It was officially retired to the desert in 2008 after serving as firefighting aircraft on the West Coast.

The museum is closed because of COVID. But once it’s safer to travel, it’ll definitely be on my list of places to visit.
