Do you have almost five months and (at least) $50,000 a person to spare? Then there’s a round-the-world cruise with your name on it!
Cruise line Viking is selling a trip “which will span 138 days, 28 countries and 58 ports, with overnight stays in 11 cities.” The journey takes place on its new Viking Neptune ship.
Prices start at just $49,995 (or about five million American Express Membership Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards® points, depending on which cards you hold 😉 ). And that’s per passenger.
The only continent you won’t visit on this trip is Antarctica.
I gotta say, that’s pretty impressive. It truly sounds like a dream trip. (Though five-ish months might be a little long for my liking.)
If you had the money, would you take part in this cruise? (And if you have the money, will you go? Also, please let us know if you’re hiring. 😉 )

Let’s suppose that my wife and I do have $100,000 and five months to spare. Let’s see! With the cruise, we’ll get a likely ‘junior deluxe’ inside cabin on the mechanical deck, some interesting shipboard companions whom we could not hope to escape, possible ‘wildlife fun’ with fellow nautical enthusiasts in the Gulf of Aden and Southeast Asia, and the increased chance of exposure to a wide variety of foodborne and airborne illnesses while onboard the ship and ashore. Further, the specter of some clown show quarantine by some uncooperative country or port will likely be around for some months, if not years, to come. For that money, give me a heavy-duty pickup and a Winnebago Voyage.
