Delta Air Lines announced its permanently eliminating change fees for travel originating from North America — to anywhere on the globe.
Note that Basic Economy fares are excluded and still subject to change fees. And fare differences to any ticket may still apply.
The news comes about three months after the airline 86ed change fees for most domestic tickets.
In the announcement, Delta also said it’s waiving change fees on all tickets purchased through March 30, 2021.
Final Approach
This is a great move on Delta’s part. It encourages people to start booking trips — even for later in 2021 — without penalty. Different locales may have different travel restrictions in place, so this gives us at least a little confidence that we can book tickets and change them if necessary.

Still waiting for them to extend e-credits again.
Would love to see reduced elite qualification levels or another status extension but I’m not holding my breathe with the MQM rollover.
This is just another scam to make people buy up from BE to MC. It will also result in an increased spread between BE and MC prices once the vaccine is widely available and people start flying again.
