Well now into the 6th month of running the mileage run board Delta goes and comes up with a sweet deal that you don’t have to leave the house to get. The current Delta Platinum card offers, both personal and business are both giving 15k MQMs plus 50k Skymiles after just $1k spend. Oh and $100 statement credit from a Delta purchase (likely anything should work like a on-board drink or gift voucher). Lets break this down in value.
- 15,000 MQMs for the $195 non-waived card fee = 1.3 cents per dollar to “buy” the MQMs
- 50,000 Skymiles are worth at least 1 cent each so $500 value there
- $100 Credit – that is simple $100 value there.
- Net value gained 15k MQMs over $400
Plus you have the chance then to spend your way to more bonus MQMs at the $25 & $50k levels. I personally like the Reserve cards more for more upgrades but this is a solid value. Anyway, I here is a LINK to the post on Delta Points about the offer. I get a small commission on the personal 50k card and nothing on the business 50k card btw and I thank you for supporting BOTH blogs. – Rene

Too bad there’s no way for me to upgrade my Amex Skymiles gold to platinum for the 50k … Or is there…
@JR – you can call but be careful. Reps will say anything and you may or may not get the points. The best would be to go for the BIZ card. But call and report back. PS – take notes. Name of rep, time, date, all facts etc. Record call if you can.
