The news about Delta getting into the Oil biz overshadowed the great announcement that you see above. The airline we love to fly cares a great deal about this noble charity! There are so many of us, including me personally, who have had a family member suffer with breast cancer and who long for the day a cure is found.
This donation came from flyers and employees of Delta Air Lines. The award was presented at the annual Hot Pink Party in New York City where top entertainers performed.
This was another donation after years of dedicated support for Breast Cancer Research. They offer the chance for those who wish to donate to go HERE via a Delta link. (by donating you will get an e-mail that says: “THIS LETTER SERVES AS YOUR OFFICIAL RECEIPT FOR TAX PURPOSES“)

Many of us have seen the “Pink Plane”. Delta’s international “Pink Plane,” “a Boeing 767-400 featuring BCRF’s trademarked pink ribbon logo on the tail of the aircraft”. While I have seen it, I have never had the chance to fly it, but I hope to do so one day. Have you? I would love to know.
Bottom line, we can be very, very proud of our airline and it’s employees. Why not thank the next one you see wearing a “pink ribbon” for not just serving us in flight, but for helping to end breast cancer one day! – Rene
PS just as an idea, would you pay extra, say $10 a year, if AMEX came out with a PINK Delta Skymiles card, either Gold/Plat/Reserve, for it to support Breast Cancer research? I will put up a poll and you can let me know. I would love to show off a PINK Delta credit card! (the one below is my standard referral one btw NOT the one I would love to see one day but I pledge to donate $10 for each application approved with today’s date as the application date!)

I flew on it about 3 years ago, STL-ATL. It was a 757 at that time…must have changed
There are so many valuable causes worthy of our donations. I’d rather choose to whom to donate than to have it tied in to a credit card. For one, there are overhead expenses when yet another party gets involved channeling funds, but primarily, I just want to give where I feel the need is greatest according to my own value system — I don’t need a credit card to do it for me.
I saw it parked in Detroit when Delta chartered it from Atlanta and flew in a bunch of employees (survivors?). They had a large area roped off and were having a reception, recognizing the employees.
I flew the pink 752 back in February, 2009 from SNA-ATL. Nothing different on the interior. It did have AVOD, and I ruined everyone on that trans-con in trivia that flight 🙂
