One day after a work stoppage by KLM workers in Amsterdam caused the cancellations of nearly a dozen flights, another strike is set for Wednesday, September 4.
Just like Monday’s strike, Wednesday’s stoppage will be in effect from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Delta Air Lines has proactively issued a travel waiver for passengers traveling Delta-marketed flights through Amsterdam on September 4. Tickets must be reissued by Wednesday, September 11. Rebooked travel must begin no later than September 11, as well.
“Dutch union FNV has announced a work stoppage of part of KLM’s ground staff on Wednesday 4 September 2019, from 08:00 to 10:00,” KLM states on its website. “This is likely to lead to disruptions. KLM regrets this and will do its utmost to limit the inconvenience for its passengers. We therefore ask our passengers to carefully follow the information on the KLM website and the KLM App on Tuesday evening and Wednesday.”
Dutch News reports FNV is demanding an “8% pay rise spread over two years, more full-time contracts and a more regular shift rota.”

Flew through AMS on Monday during the stoppage. The ramp was serenely quiet but no issue getting parked or gate connected.
Many short hauls were cancelled (CDG/BRU and similar). In lounge they were saying “just go to the train station and they will give you voucher” rather than worry about rebooking. Beyond that flights delayed 30-60 min is all.
