An angry employee at the Long Beach Marriott with a large weapon cache and “plan of shooting everyone in the hotel,” was arrested in Southern California before carrying a potentially devastating mass murder.
The worker was a cook who “had clear plans, intent, and the means to carry out an act of violence that may have resulted in a mass casualty incident,” Long Beach police chief Robert Luna said Wednesday. Chief Luna said the suspect was “upset about some recent workplace activity having to do with HR.”
The suspect was taken into custody Tuesday after allegedly telling a coworker about shooting employees and everyone coming into the hotel. According to KTLA 5, the coworker purportedly contacted police Monday after hearing the suspect’s plot.
Upon serving a search warrant, law enforcement officers found an enormous supply of tactical gear, high powered firearms, high capacity magazines, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
