Passengers in Nigeria experienced something rather terrifying on Friday: a man jumping onto their flight’s wing while the plane prepared to take off.
The incident took place at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. Fox News reports an Azman Air 737 pilot saw a man approaching the plane while the aircraft taxied to a runway. The man then climbed onto the wing and tried entering the plane. (Spoiler alert: it didn’t work.)
Passenger Otto Orondaam recorded the intruder hopping onto the wing.
An Azman Air press release states the security arrested the man, who has “since been remanded for further interrogation.” It’s not yet known how he gained access to the secure area.
The plane returned to the gate, where passengers deplaned. Luggage and aircraft were “THOROUGHLY” inspected. Passengers eventually reboarded the plane and flew to Port Harcourt International Airport (PHC) in Omagwa.
I worked for a guy who experienced something similar. Except his incident happened in the air. 😉

Nightmare at 20,000′ (young Shatner and all) is a great Twilight Zone episode. Perhaps the inspiration for VFTW 🙂
