Holy cow what a busy week of aviation and travel news. I try to keep these around 10 stories but I could have pushed this one to over 20. I picked the ones I think you will like or want to read as well:
Tell me if you also found other Delta or travel worthy news bits that caught your attention you had to read? If so, be sure to comment below and please do include a link to the story. – René

Although a slight hassle, perhaps the solution to protecting your data on your cellphone from these TSA/DHS searches could be to turn off your phones before going through the security lines.
So much for mobile app boarding passes.
Regarding on-time performance etc. stats, it is necessary to know how they are compiled to get a true understanding and comparison. For example, DL cancelled a SIN -NRT flight I was on in November because of a mechanical issue. Yet it claimed, bragged actually, that it had zero cancellations that month. Apparently DL excludes some international flights when it compiles stats. So what else is excluded that we don’t know about? There should be an explanatory * or footnote.
PS. Re stat explanation the DOT or airline should be required to provide the explanatory note when it publishes the stats.
