I think most of us are painfully aware that much of the Caribbean will not be put back together again for many months. Delta is offering some of the most extensive waivers for a number of locations I have ever seen (note: some locations are covered under more than one waiver). In addition to all of the above, this weekend, we had a mega “Schedule Change Saturday” event. Even some mainline international flights had 1+ hour changes that could really impact your connections with partners. I would, as I always do each Monday, check all your Delta flights, and seats if equipment was changed, to see what may now be a connection that will no longer work (i.e. you land after your next flight has departed etc.). – René

Will need to rebook our trip to Sweden next summer as the only Delta flight, JFK-ARN, was canceled and Delta is offering no other options. The issue is no award availability on partner airlines so they are pushing CPH as the alternative or a refund. Keep climbing!
@Max – While it is true they can not oversell award space on partners you can pick, and they can over sell space, on ANY Delta metal so consider all options.
Thanks Rene, there is no longer any Delta metal to Sweden, so the only option they’re making available on my dates is CPH, which is in Denmark. I find it odd they can’t force availability on AF or KLM when they drop a destination completely and it’s the only way to get there. Am I supposed to just sit on snabbtog for 5 extra hours or buy my own flight on SAS?? Not happy!
Thank you so much for this post–along with others but this one!!!!
I have booked Delta One tickets with points + $$ for a romantic trip–for 2 to Hawaii in June. Our reservation was supposed to be together–but let’s not EVEN go there–They haven’t changed the plane–but have changed our flights 3 times. I called after the 1st Time to make sure our reservations were linked–they weren’t. Got our seats back together–AND GUESS WHAT–Changed again–ATL-HNL -I’m in 4A–He’s in 7D–On hold!!! to get it fixed I hope-getting a little tired of Delta BS–and yes–Diamond Million Miler-for whatever that is worth!!
