I commend Delta for providing us standard and USB power power ports just about everywhere (some better than others fyi), from gate area to Sky Clubs to on-board they are plentiful. But when I at last get to where I am going the hotel may or may not offer what I really need. Plus, many times, they spread out the USB power ports one or two here and there all over the room. I don’t know about you but I have nightmares about leaving something plugged in and leaving it behind in the room. 🙁
In the past I have used the above combo for my laptop and then the next one for all my USB stuff. I need this as I now have a USB port powered Mouse, Bluetooth headphones (w/ Bluetooth transmitter dongle), as well as my trusty 20k battery brick. All 4 of these device I need to charge each night before travel the next day. I need something simpler and with a LONG and yet compact cord.
Time for this “UPWADE” to be my new solution and replace my old surge protector with only 2 USB ports to one that has 4 and be able to have everything conveniently plugged in to one spot and all of it the have power protection – Nice.
With 2 standard power ports I can keep my laptop going as well as one more spot for my 26k mega laptop battery brick (that will recharge my laptop from dead once).
I think I have found the perfect setup and I am loving all of the above (well, other than my old surge strip). Now my only problem is making sure I make the time to plug everything in before I go to bed! 🙂
So does my collection of power hungry travel toys resemble yours? Do you have another perfect solution you have found? – René
PS – I’m going to do a SWAG Saturday giveaway later today so be sure to stop by and check the blog!

I love the cord management feature.
I have been on a few flights having international outlets that were pretty worn out, and two-prong plugs become loose and fall out. I have a three-prong extension cord that usually works well in worn outlets.
I think that your old Tripp Lite strip has three prongs. The two-prong plug and cord of the Upwade look very lightweight, so hopefully it will stay inserted.
Hi Rene,
I noticed that an Amazon Lightning Deal wil start for the power strip that you recommended at 6:44 am Monday morning. Are you still happy with this strip?
We won’t know the price until the deal starts.

@Dave – I do like it and the 4 USB ports are great. I dislike the hard to plug in AC ports (kid protection feature). If I were to buy another one I would consider the smaller one with only 1 AC outlet and 4 USB i.e. this one: https://amzn.to/2GnSOuA
The Lightning Deal is underwhelming and only knocks off about $2.50, but ordered one.
I currently have this strip:

It only has three USB ports, and no cable management, but the AC outlets are great. Also, the outlets are on the side, so there is no problem using a cube tap or two big wall wort adapters. I do need two AC outlets. I’ll see which one I like better.
