This is not your standard Delta Sky Club. That is, it does not look like the new “IKEA” look club you now expect to see in stylish SFO club or in flagship JFK one. If you are looking for a modern club then look across the hall to THE CLUB at MCO I reviewed a few weeks back.

The club is one level up from the concourse level so either hoof it up the stairs or take the elevators one floor up.

You can get in with a number of AMEX cards or, if you are a Skyteam elite plus status and are on a coach or anyone on a business class international departing (or connecting) ticket, you can also get in free.

There is only one check-in / help desk combo immediately as you exit the elevators. I had to wait for a bit as all the reps were busy helping passengers with issues. After a rather long delay one rep finally took a quick break to check in myself and several other passengers waiting.

Just left of check-in this club still has automated kiosks to assist you as well so if lines are long consider trying this to expedite what you need travel wise.

Again the decor and look of this club is nothing like the new modern Sky Club themes. This is both good and bad. Good in that this club does feel like a “proper” club of days gone by. Bad in that there are not power outlets scattered everywhere that we have come to need with all our modern gadgets (it is amazing how power hungry we all have become).

Also just left of check-in is the bar and food service area. For such a large area it felt a bit cramped. It could be the scattering of artistic objects occupying valuable floor space and perhaps not the best furnishings. As in all Sky Clubs well drinks, house wine and beer is complimentary with high end drinks for sale.

You can expect standard Sky Club snack options (sorry for the blurry shot). Soup, bread and other finger foods. Don’t expect a lite meal as you can find at other clubs like the E or F clubs in Atlanta that have an expanded buffet type setup.

My current visit to the food area even included a four legged “free range” guest (did he have to pay the $29 + 1 up-charge I wonder)? 😉

In the right back of the club is a small walled off but shared play are for kids. Again, very unique furniture choices in this club and I found some to be more comfortable than others.

In the way back of the club you will find two semiprivate work cubicles as well as a printer. I do like that this is separated away from the rest of the lounge to give you a degree of privacy when you have work to do. The lavatories are also located here in the back of the club but there are no showers (you will have to visit THE CLUB at MCO for that).

I have visited this Sky Club on a number of trips and find the look to be interesting but other than that an underwhelming lounge. Since my non-Delta AMEX Platinum card includes Priority Pass that gets me into the club across the hall I will be spending most of my time there. I have found it to be less crowded, offer better features and an overall better experience than this dated Delta Sky Club. – René

Hmm, free range…I did once point out in response your past anti-dog post that one would get sick from another person before getting sick from a dog, but they should *at least* be on a leash, if not a cage!

Well I love my home Crown Room ! Yes thats what we older experienced DELTA flyers still call it. It was really great when there was an International Lounge in the back past the Bathrooms. I brought my decorator there in the early 90’s and redesigned my Family room to match the decor ! (PS I don’t see the canine??)
