In case you have not noticed, Delta has really been spending a bunch of time improving the functionality and look of Delta.com from a user standpoint. Some of it for marketing, but some of it just for a better user experience. For those of us who are on Delta.com almost every day (or many times a day) this latest tweak really is a big deal. Notice this morning what is now gone from Delta.com?
Yep, that most irritating nav bar, that you could not make go away, at the bottom of the page has disappeared. I really hated that thing, but there was no way to remove it and it often auto-popped up at the most inconvenient times. It seems it is gone now and I THANK DELTA for this as well as all the other little tweaks that are really improving the user experience!
This was also a recent hot topic in a PVT user focus group I am part of and it seems most in the group were also of the opinion that they too wanted the bar gone.
Now if only we can talk Delta into un-hiding the award charts from Delta.com as well as un-hiding the 1st class seat maps (once you book a coach ticket), now that too would be something to celebrate as well! 🙂 – Rene

Humm, on the home page it is gone, that’s right. Had it been there?
I just logged in, went to ‘My Trips’, and voila, there is that nav bar.
That’s the only place I have ever used it, simply to log out again.
Okay, okay, I could use the button in the upper right corner instead.
However, I have configured my browser window such that it is not wide enough for the Delta pages, so I don’t see it 😉
Hence, I use the button in the nav bar, which is indeed a bit inconvenient, since the nav bar expands while the mouse hovers above it.
@Ralfinho – DOH! Grrr.. half gone 😉
Yep hemorrhoid…..
Just stopped by to say don’t be too quick pointing out the good things Rene as we know our loved Delta has a way of messing up on just about everything.
@Graydon – LOL, well, maybe. But thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Opened up my Delta Points this morning that the first thing for me to read was: “Why you should color your gray at home”. Next comes “in This Issue” followed by a clothing add. Then “More Reent Articles, followed by an ad for “The Grommet” and then the dreaded, “You might Like” lineup of really weird websites. What’s going on?
@Judy – It was a feedblitz issue. They are fixing it. Txs – Rene
I have flown ~140k miles for business with Delta this year and just recently booked my first 2 trips with another airline (Air Canada – 30% discount with exchange!). Any minor irritation I may have had with Delta website or app are definitely forgotten as functionality of AC site and app leave substantially more to be desired!
Too bad it will not let you check your future flight info with Internet Explorer …
