The other day, acually the SAME DAY as the latest in a never ending string of crushing SkyMiles devaluations, I got this kind reminder that Delta HATES small business owners. No? You bet they do. Take a look.
You see even if you spend $100,000 flying Delta this year, and are part of Skybonus, they are going to kick you out at the end of this year. You must have at least 5 people who work for you who will fly Delta at least once to stick in the program after 31DEC15.
I really appreciate Delta reminding me of these facts on the same day I learned all the other news that made me want to reach for an air sickness bag. Ah well.
Then today, I get a helpful (and maybe targeted) reminder that Delta has a bunch of new markets that I can get bonus Skybonus points for if I register and then buy and fly. Always keep this in mind to check your Skybonus page now and then for new promotions because you MUST register before you buy to get in on the deals.
Are you part of Skybonus? Will you be out at the end of 2015? If yes to the latter be sure you spend all your points before the “ball drops” on new year’s eve! – René

I’m so pissed about that new promotion. I bought tickets for two passengers that include LAX to SYD and SYD to LAX on June 5th – before the promotion was announced. No Sky Bone Us for us.
We’ve flown 5 distinct people under our Sky Bone Us account this year, but unlikely we’ll have 5+ in 2016. So, we’ll get kicked out at the end of 2016?
At least we’ll have a year (from point redemption) to use many of the certificates we redeem before the end of 2015…
So far it’s not looking like I’ll mert 2015 requirements. So I will need to cash in my points by end of year? How to use the points seems a little cryptic. Have you done any posts about cashing in how-to?
I’m in the boat. How should we use those sky bone-us points?
Same boat
yep…same boat for us. Less than five. Fortunately, AA has a similar program and is not subject to the 5 minimum so that’s where we are headed. Already have the AA challenge arranged and will be Platinum at the end of September. Good bye Delta…..
I can’t find on the Skybonus website where it lists the employees that have entered the Skybonus Acct # on their Delta profile. I need to identify the one employee who has not. I’m cautious about contacting Skybonus for technical help 🙂 Any suggestions?
@Cherylthings – Have you tested just adding one of their old tickets?
Several of our employee tickets were missing from SkyBoneUs and I was sure, because I bought the tickets, that SkyBonus numbers were entered. So, I entered the missing tickets via SkyBonus web site. I’ve been checking periodically and, last I checked, still no credit for these missing tickets of employees. The SkyBonus numbers don’t have to be, or shouldn’t have to be, part of the travelers profile – rather, the numbers should be provided at the time of ticket purchase. I have my fingers crossed we’ll get proper credit soon, but I’m not holding my breath either. Meanwhile, we should have earned the points this past spring, but we don’t have the points yet so we can use the missing points to claim rewards. *sigh*
