gogo sharing via bluetooth working delta

One of the nice things about the new PEDs being allowed on Delta jets is that, according to Sky Magazine, that “Wireless Mouse, Keyboard or Other Accessory” are now allowed. This to me means bluetooth devices are just fine now.

There are many different apps to share your wifi or cell connection to other bluetooth enabled devices. As an Android user I chose PDAnet+ as it is simple and works for me. I just enable the app as you can see and then share the connection.

Then, on my other devices, like a tablet, I just go to the bluetooth settings and one of the options paired to my phone is to connect to the interent via bluetooth. On my laptop, there is a program that is included to link up via USB or bluetooth.

Either way, if you are likely to have more than one device online at a time or to say share your connection with your other devices this is one workaround. – René

@Delta Points – Who or what is MJ? Michael Jackson? Michael Jordan? Marijuana?

BTW, I’m thrilled to bits with the new SkyClub changes.

    Rene,

Know this isn’t related to this post, but I just received an email from Delta stating that I’ll no longer get access to the Sky Club starting in May with my Delta Reserve card. This along with the 15,000 MQM bonus are the only reason I have the card. My question is what card do you suggest switching to or do you think it’s still worth it to have the card.

    Thanks,
    Tripp

What are your thoughts on the new skyclub changes? At first I was fuming since I just got my Reserve card in December and they’re already devaluing the perks of the card, but the more I think about it, it might be kind of nice. I have yet to travel with anyone that I need to guest into the skyclub, and would only ever use the perk if my wife traveled with me somewhere when/if we take a vacation together. $29 is still reasonable for those rare occactions, and for all of the other times this should help thin down the amount of people we see in the clubs. Hmmmmmm…..

+1 on the SkyClub…I just got this email too. Yet another devaluation in my opinion. I am sympathetic that some of the clubs were becoming quite crowded…but…on the other hand, the 2014 qualifications are much tougher which theoretically means less Diamonds and less people getting in for free. Even for the other elite levels, there will be less people qualifying for those reduced SkyClub membership rates, so I would imagine that access would be reduced overall. This change takes it a whole step further. Bad for DL elites, since I think DL have the nicest lounges amongst the major US carriers.

I received the same email regarding the SkyClub changes. Where does it say Delta Reserve card members will lose access? Their SkyClub membership will transposed to a regular membership so no more guests that’s all. But still access for the cardholder.

    Please read again before ranting!

In other words, card members KEEP their individual access but LOOSE the ability to bring a guest, i.e., they transfer to an individual membership, not an executive membership.

Many of us travel frequently with a companion. If you don’t think it’s big deal to tell your business client, spouse or minor child to wait by the gate while you relax in the lounge, then these changes WILL NOT affect you negatively.

Just an FYI… If you have an android device on TMobile that supports WIFI Calling, you are able to text and make/receive phone calls on GOGO… however when testing the quality of the calls, you may here them, but you will probably be very broken up or garbled due to the very slow upload of GOGO… However, I was able to retrieve VMs off my work place phone system via wifi calling.
