Weekends are time to relax but also time to make sure you are getting the most out of your DELTA partnership you can. Web sites are built by geeks like me (well sorta like me anyway). Us geeks think geek. We think the way we make something is simple, clear and logical. Then a user try’s it and says, “that is so dumb, why did they do it this way?”. In some ways DELTA.com is clean and nice, in other ways not so much.
So today let’s look at a part of the DELTA web site you may never have seen. Your “manage my account” page:
As you can see this page has lots of links for you to play with and update and I hope you take the time to do just that including passport and credit card info.
But what I want to focus on is what is in it for you today. Please look at the VIEW YOUR PROMOTIONS link.
Here you will see I have at least one promotion I have yet to register for. Some of them you will never ever fly. But register for all of them. With DELTA “IT” you never know when some flight might just give you an extra 5000 or 25000 skymiles! And, many times you will find there are some good promotions you can take advantage of.
So today is short but sweet. Take some time and get to know DELTA web site – René

hello. 1st poster to your blog.
Hey! Like the Delta website tips. I’ll be back!
Nice blog, deltagoldflyer!
Hi, I have been flying Delta this year and became Gold recently. I’d love to see a really clear, step by step post on booking the lowest possible award flights to Europe.
Step one is go to web site and get frustrated. Step two is here: http://deltapoints.boardingarea.com/2011/11/19/learn-how-to-book-delta-low-level-seats-to-europe-beyond-even-summer/
i have 85,000 security account points that BUY plane tickets.
use or lose them i can get MQM,s BUT must dedicate the points by May 2012/
please help me find the MOST MQMs for the least number of points- i believe 25,000 = $350.00
so i can put it towrd my 2012 medallion flying..
i dont care if it is a mileage run i would love to pass through Paris on a monday or friday though if possible
thank you for being here!
please!
Nice watch!
Hope you win 🙂
Give me liberty or give me MQMs! ~ Benjamin Franklin(?)
Its about time we got a good delta blog! I’m adding you to my daily blog roll!
Neat!
Love that you are an exclusive Delta blogger. I definitely need help for getting FF trips to Europe~main destination.
Thanks and will check in DAILY!!!
Thanks Elaine – be sure to look at this post for some tips for EURO travel – http://deltapoints.boardingarea.com/2011/11/19/learn-how-to-book-delta-low-level-seats-to-europe-beyond-even-summer/
I’m glad you are writing about Delta. I have always enjoyed your comments on the various forums. Happy travels!
Great idea…just went on Delta and registered for all. Thank you
i’m a delta lover and therefore appreciate your blog, but am slightly saddened that others get to read it, too. can you write just for me?? 🙂 i understand that is totally selfish, so i hope anyone who learns from your tips isn’t ever bumped ahead of me for an upgrade. 🙂
Hi Danielle – txs so much – don’t worry not that many read my blog (so far)! 😉
Finally! I’m a CVG hub captive, and there’s not a lot of blog love for Delta. The Points Guy is doing more than his fair share, but there’s a lot of heavy lifting to be done there! It’s so great to finally see someone who can share some advice, insight, and well…let’s face it, since it’s Delta…misery about all things DL. Just added you to my RSS feed. Booyah!
Rene…please do your follow up post about Delta MQMs. My life has gotten a LOT better since making DM this year, but as a leisure traveller, maintaining that status (or any status!) is a constant battle. Looking forward to more of your thoughts.
Today’s tip is cool! I like it! 🙂
Delta-only FF blog = awesome!
I started to learn about earning miles/rewards this year and how to utilize them to better benefit myself and my family. I hope I can learn more about Delta airlines through your blogs. Also, Congrats on starting your own blog! 🙂
Well, in that case, hello!
thanks for the tip!
I always have TIME (lol) to say thanks for another source of information on cultivating Delta miles. Will add your site to my pile of blogs I track on travel. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing much needed info on Delta with your new blog.
Looking good so far. Keep it up!
well it’s about TIME someone started a DELTA site!
Showing Delta some love nice. Got the link through million mile secrets look forward to adding it to my reader.
Keep the tips coming!
As a long time NWA/Delta user it’s nice to get some help on Delta’s website. I think Delta still needs to update the site, but it”s getting better. Thanks
Looking forward to reading your blog!
Another blog I will be subscribing to. Thanks!
Hi…I’m glad to have discovered your Delta blog!
Just found your website today and glad I did since the best connections from where I live to Italy are via Delta.
Paisano – I was born in Italy! Enjoy the blog.
More good stuff! Keep ’em coming!
Hello. Thanks for posting. I know these take a while to write up.
Seen you all over FT & Milepoint – thanks for reading my blog! – Rene
Cool watch!
Thanks for the update on the delta website. I too often don’t take advantage of little things like this. Always good to know 🙂
I acquire and use Delta Skymiles a lot because of the bonuses offered by transferring Amex Membership Rewards to Delta. Good to see a blog devoted solely to Delta.
I am looking forward to using this blog to fly at low cost to India from Seattle on Delta. Added to my google reader.
By the way “Hello”!
Thanks for the tip! Loving the blog.
Hello. I like the blog.
Hi! Very cool watch!
Just started following you on twitter! 🙂
Awesome blog so far. Keep up the good work!
Delta SkyPesos would be more appropriate!
I value Skymles at 1-3 cents each. Why, if you know how, to be able to book a $3000 biz class seat to Europe for 100k is great value. That and the fact, that as you say, the come as cheap as Pesos? Thus the great value IMO.
Very nice Blog. I always fly out of Atlanta. I look forward to reading more. Is there a way to get your blog sent to my email address automatically? Thanks
Yes use the RSS feed at the top of the blog.
I love learning something new everyday! Thanks for sharing your tips with us!
Cool!
I remember when that button first came available. I thought it was one of the best “enhancements” to the DL website in a Looooong time.
I am really enjoying your blog. Keep up the good work.
I agree — sign up for every promotion… alot of them have a while to run and you never know if you will earn it. Never ceases to amaze me the many people who are booked on promotion-eligible trips who have not signed up and miss out on the bonuses.
Great write-up on DL. I have lots of miles with DL and can’t find a good way to use them. So your articles will come in handy.
lol care to share 🙂
Thanks. Your blog is great.
Thanks for all of the helpful information. Keep up the great work!
Love Delta points so far
i love delta and am SO glad you are blogging
gosh i want to fly like you
i am only a gold 🙁
peace!
txs – keep in mind the amex reserve above in best cards gives you 10,000 mqm with first charge 😉 – rene
sigh, alas, i do not qualify////
i look for great deals
last year when lga and ord opened a good business corridor i bought a ticket and got TRIPLE MQMS that was well worth it
also i need to bump… they have been pretty meagre
any insights please?
how do i get added or add you to get your blog please?
I don’t even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was good. I don’t know who you are but definitely you are going to a famous blogger if you aren’t already 😉 Cheers!
hello from Utah 😉
Here is my tip…know the reservation/information number of the airline you are traveling but more important if you can speak another language, or someone in your party can, know that direct number. A regional airport in Los Angeles shut down leaving all Southwest airline passengers stranded. The southwest gate agent was bombard with angry people. Calling IFLYSWA was just a busy signal. I had my friend who speaks Spanish call 1-800- VAMONOS (the Spanish line for SWA) and we got through immediately and booked on the next flight out of LAX.
