Recently, I had the chance to experience Royal Caribbean’s new beach club experience first hand. MrsMJonTravel and I were guests aboard the fabulous Wonder of the Seas for a 3-night weekender cruise. We wouldn’t normally bother with a 3-nighter at this point in our cruising careers, but we were already in Miami for the Zumba Cruise aboard Norwegian Pearl for a 4-night charter. We needed to make a full week of it. Disembarking Pearl on Friday, embarking Wonder of the Seas to depart the same day seemed like an ideal solution. The Zumba Cruise was actually my first experience cruising NCL, so standby for a future post on that.
The 3-night cruise included stops at Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at Coco Cay and Nassau. Our Perfect Day included Coco Beach Club, an experience I’ve reviewed previously. I am pleased to report, that Coco Beach Club is just one of those things that I will always pay for. But you’re here for my thoughts on the new Royal Beach Club concept, so here you go.
Royal Beach Club
I was excited to get a chance to check out the new Royal Beach Club. It’s a new concept, and this was my first opportunity to see it up close. I booked it months before our cruise. I did keep an eye on pricing, and when I saw it go on sale for a few dollars less than I’d originally paid, I cancelled the original booking and rebooked at the new lower price. For the record, I wound up paying approximately $111 per person for the unlimited open bar option. There is a lower price point that does not include alcohol. Note, that unlike Perfect Day at Coco Cay, your beverage package does NOT include drinks at Royal Beach Club. You can pay by the drink or book a pass that includes unlimited open bar.
On the day your cruise arrives in Nassau, head down to the gangway at whatever time you wish and start walking like you’re going to leave the port and explore Nassau. As you make the first right turn from your ship you’ll see the boarding area for the ferry boats to Paradise Island. It is well marked with Beach Club art. You won’t miss it. When you arrive, they’ll scan your sea pass card and then you board the next available ferry. They run frequently throughout the day. I don’t think we waited more than 5 minutes before we were underway.
The Beach Club is divided into three neighborhoods, Party Cove, Paradise Beach, and Chill Beach. We arrived later than we might’ve preferred so many of the prime pool chairs around Party Cove were taken, but as we made it to the more sedate Chill Beach area, we found some prime chairs near one of three pools in the club. We were almost immediately greeted by an attendant who offered a brief explanation of where things were located and offered to bring us our first refreshing beverages of the day. We were constantly checked on to see if we needed anything.
After skipping breakfast on purpose and enjoying our first libations, it was time to eat. There are three eateries in the beach club and all offer the same menu.
I opted for the Lobster BLT while MrsMJ went with the Crispy Fish sandwich. We sampled each other’s food and were pleased with both. I probably have a slight preference for the Fish sandwich, but the Lobster BLT was quite good. Can vouch for the fries and the shrimp on a stick as well.
After lunch and some more libations we walked around a bit, making our way to Party Cove. They call it that for a reason. There’s a DJ and it is LOUD. IF we got there early enough for a good chair, we might’ve stayed for a bit, but as this was the last day of our cruise vacation, we were in more of a relaxing mode. The water was beautiful and the weather was very nice.
The Bottom Line – Yes, I’d Book Again, But Probably Not on Every Cruise to Nassau
I admit it, I’ve been to Nassau so many times I usually don’t bother getting off the ship. I’ve looked at Nassau as a great opportunity to enjoy the ship’s amenities while the masses leave to explore. I no longer feel that way. I found the Royal Beach Club experience to be an enticing option for Nassau. It’s a great option for something to do in Nassau. In other words, it’s a shore excursion that you absolutely should try. But unlike the Coco Beach Club which I may as well just say to Royal Caribbean, “please take my money,” I don’t think I feel compelled to say that I must visit the Royal Beach Club every time I’m in Nassau. I’ll go again, but probably not the very next time I’m there.
But that’s not to say I won’t get off the ship next time I’m in Nassau, quite the contrary. If you haven’t been to Nassau lately, the port area has been completely revitalized. It’s gorgeous. Next time I’m there, I think I’ll explore that before returning to a less crowded ship on port day.

Just an FYI, if you would have used royalpricetracker.com they would monitor the Beach Club price for you. They monitor Royal Caribbean and Celebrity prices from dining packages, drink packages, excursions, etc…. It has saved us allot of money since I started using them. You owe it to yourself to check it out! Money saved is money earned!!!!!!
