A stunning promotion was announced this week — and can save you a lot of money on airfare if you travel with a companion throughout the year. Plus, we have a pair of Air France business class reviews. Finally, there are several Valentine’s Day travel ideas that don’t necessarily have to be limited to this weekend!
The happy-go-lucky Southwest Airlines as we knew it is gone, for better and worse. But their awesome Companion Pass is still around — and you can snag it through a great Southwest credit card promotion. Basically, for a fairly minimal required spend, you get the Companion Pass through February 2027. That means any time you fly Southwest through next February, a designated companion flies free with you. (The only thing you pay for is taxes and fees for your companion.) No blackout dates and you can use the Companion Pass as often as you want. It really is a fantastic deal.
And, yes, Southwest credit card holders get a free checked bag and free seating privileges on Southwest. Here’s our post about the Companion Pass promotion.
René deLambert took another trip to Europe on Air France. Read his review of their A350-900 business class seats and a quick hop on their A321 “business class.” (If you’ve never flown intra-European business class, the seating isn’t exactly dazzling.)
Finally, the travel lover and hopeless romantic in me shared some ideas for Valentine’s Day travel. These ideas don’t have to be limited to Valentine’s Day — in fact, they’re probably cheaper at most times throughout the year.
I hope you’re having a great weekend (especially if you have Monday off)! Here in Los Angeles, the Film Independent Spirit Awards take place today, as does the NBA All-Star Game. A series of cold, wet storms moves into the area later today. Apologies to everyone visiting SoCal from out of town.
