I had a fantastic week. You see I have a number of cruises booked and I just called on one of them and due to this weekend’s NCL sale offer I was re-priced almost $1,000 lower for my cruise! It is a good reminder that once booked you are NOT done until you reach the point where you can no longer make changes. Enough about my score, let’s look back at last week on the blog:
Honestly this is one of the saddest, and funniest, videos I have ever seen. You see a lady from China decided to go full 2 year old floor tantrum and meltdown at the gate due to a bag issue. You just gotta see the clip here.
A cruise vacation is supposed to be relaxing and nothing but fun – that is until the chairs start flying around and passengers pummeling each other? Sigh… and yes, there is a video of the brawl.
I spent last week, in addition to saving almost a grand on my next cruise, sending hundreds of thousands of points to Hawaiian Airlines frequent flyer program. Why would I do this and why is your time to do this limited? Take a look as you too may want to send some of your points over as well.
If you hold a Delta Amex card you may have the ability to harvest some free or nearly free hotel nights but time is running out for this part of the year. Credits post fast but you too must act fast as well.
There are some simply amazing points offers live right now and the time to apply is when these massive offers are out. This one, amazingly, does NOT include “family language” rules that is a big bonus and the other big offer is worth $1,800 cash back! The last one is for Delta fans as the 110,000 points offers are back again!
Lastly this week you will want to check if you are targeted for this Lyft offer. I am a huge Lyft fan over Uber and sadly I was not targeted!
Be safe this weekend everyone and travel smart. I have some trips coming up this summer and am checking all my travel plans to tweak or improve them. You? – René

Rene, you speak of getting a lower price on a Norwegian Cruise. How could that be? I am a Platinum Latitudes member and have never been allowed to re-negotiate a fare because I pay for my cruise at the time I make the reservation. Do you have a “secret” about getting a lower fare on a reservation? Do let me know.
Since I plan well in advance, I would like to know how to take advantage of lower fares after reservations are made.

@John C – Every time there is a new sale you can check and especially so as you get months or weeks before the 120 day cut off window to make rebooking changes. Then just call your NCL rep and have them check if the prices have gone down under the current sale. In my case it was an NCL Casinos at Sea rep as I was Diamond when I booked that and it has stuck even though I am no longer Diamond since the Wydham match offer is now dead.
