Plans are apparently underway for an anti-ICE protest in Las Vegas this Wednesday, June 10.
I noticed this Xitter post from @VitalVegas:
Heads up. Be nice. pic.twitter.com/lCCa7lw1HS

I saw a different post elsewhere announcing another protest for Thursday, June 11, at the same location. The announced area is a few blocks southeast of the Fremont Street Experience and hotels in that area. (I think that address is an ICE field office.) We don’t know of anything planned (yet) for the Las Vegas Strip.
But it looks like some informal(?) protests are already underway.
Amid the triple-degree heat, Las Vegas union members, workers and elected officials rallied in protest of escalating action from federal immigration agents—wary Nevada could be next.https://t.co/aDGbxpQ2Hh

I hope these events are planned to be non-violent, peaceful protests. Several of those demonstrations have taken place here in Los Angeles. I’ve seen marches, dancing(!), speeches, praying, singing, some raised voices, and people standing around various government sites. I must admit: watching a peaceful march down Fremont Street would be quite the sight!

The problem is the organized (and a few unorganized) agitators who assault people, light dumpsters and cars on fire, throw explosives and rocks, and drive vehicles into people. (That is not peaceful.) My guess is that rioters won’t have as much free rein in Nevada as they’ve enjoyed in L.A. Let’s hope that chaos doesn’t unfold. (For those wondering or trying to start something: I’m an independent voter who’s voted for family members and friends who ran as Republicans, Democrats, and indepedents )

Well, at least you allowed comments this time. Unlike the LA one, where you leaned one way but gave no one a chance to respond.
But, hey, it’s your blog so you can do that.
Yep. There are perks that come with being the boss.
That said, I will close comments if things get crazy.
I don’t know why this showed up in my feed. This is my comment.
