Why do these kinds of fights always seem to happened on Carnival Cruises? Not too long ago in our weekly news roundup we blogged about a brawl in Galveston Texas as Carnival passengers were getting off a cruise.
This latest one happened this past Saturday the 7th when the Carnival Sunrise was on a four day cruise from Miami (what some folks call a booze cruise due to the short length of the itinerary). Carnival does limit you to 15 drinks a day on their package but that is still a LOT of alcohol to be consumed in such a short period of time.
In the video posted to Facebook we see in the first moments of the video chairs begin to fly as the fight gets going (we are not embedding the video here on the blog due to the language in the video but you can see the full clip here).
I can not begin to say how stupid it is to get involved, in any way, in a fight on a cruise ship. You will not only likely face criminal charges when you get back to your final port but you will also likely:
- Get to spend some time in the ship brig
- Receive a fine from the cruise ship auto billed to your credit card on file
- End up with a lifetime ban from the cruise line
While all of the above will result in a very memorable cruise it is not the kind of cruise vacation any of us should want to take. – René

Fight, what fight didn’t ABC report it was just some cruisers having a little fun? After all, during its live coverage of the violent demonstrations rocking downtown LA, ABC7 Los Angeles anchor Jory Rand cautioned law enforcement from escalating tensions by interfering.
“It could turn very volatile if you move law enforcement in there in the wrong way, and turn what is just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn into a massive confrontation and altercation between officers and demonstrators,” he said. (The cars burning were $300,00 electric taxis the demonstrators called in by using the Waymo app and then set ablaze)
