There’s some bad news (or good news, depending on how you look at it) for Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business members: major changes are coming to both cards’ airport lounge features.
Frankly, everything is about as seamless as NFL overtime rules.
No More Complimentary Guests
Right now, both Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business holders can bring up to two guests into Capital One Lounges and Capital One Landings for free.
But starting February 1, 2026, you’ll need to start paying for guests. Each guest will cost $45 per visit; guests between the ages of 2-17 receive a discounted rate of $25. You can bring up to two guests into Capital One Lounges. Only one guest may be brought into Capital One Landings.
However, that policy is waived if you spend $75,000 in eligible purchases on your card during a calendar year. You may then bring two free guests for the remaining calendar year and all of the following calendar year. But if you pay $125 a year, then you can bring in guests for $35 a pop. So, figure out which model is more advantageous for you. The same Lounges and Landings guest limits apply.
Again, that’s for both the personal and business cards.
No More Complimentary Access for Venture X Additional Cardmembers
One of the current best deals in travel belongs to the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card. For the past several years (and through January 2026), primary members can add up to four additional cardholders for free. And those lucky devils can enjoy:
- Complimentary access to Capital One Lounges and Capital One Landings
- Complimentary Priority Pass Select membership
- Two complimentary guests per visit
Really, it was too good to last. And now it’s going away.
Starting February 1, 2026, additional cardmembers who want Capital One Lounge, Capital One Landing, and Priority Pass Select access need to pony up $125 a year. (Or they can pay $45 per visit to Capital One Lounges and Landings; $25 for kids 2-17.) They can bring guests to Priority Pass lounges for $35 each. But again, they must still pay the $125 a year.
It’s a little different for Capital One Venture X Business members. If additional members pay the $125 fee, they may bring in up to two guests for free. Additional guests are $35 each.
There’s a complete rundown of all the changes here.
All of this is great news for people who travel alone and are sick of lounge overcrowding. If you enjoy the additional cardmember perks, it’s not necessarily what you want to hear. But if those authorized users access lounges on even a somewhat regular basis, $125 for lounge access is a great deal.
Both my wife and I have (and use) our own Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card because we like the 2X earnings on eligible purchases, $300 annual travel credit for bookings made through Capital One Travel, and 10,000 bonus Mile gift every year. It’s easily worth the $395 annual fee. These changes don’t upset us terribly.
What do you make of the changes?

I welcome the changes, as the C1 lounges are beyond crowded.
